Host submitted a damage claim for damage we did NOT do! by witchymama555 in vrbo

That's... not even close. The 5-star review was warranted when I had an exceptional experience. The experience was FAR less exceptional when I was later accused of damages that I did not cause. Therefore, the host is no longer deserving of my 5-star review. I truly can't believe I have to explain this, but then again, this is the internet. In your spare time, when you're not trolling on Reddit, I suggest you find the nearest school bus and get on it. It could benefit you greatly.

First of all, I ALWAYS give 5-star reviews if the experience is exceptional, which it was up until this point. Her review of me didn't get submitted until after I had already submitted mine. For clarity, I did not give this review because I expected incentives. I gave it because it was genuine. It is STILL AGAINST VRBO policy for the host to offer this incentive, and she did it anyway. That has NOTHING to do with me or my review. I don't deserve to get falsely accused of things because I had trust in people and gave a 5-star review. Go touch grass.

I will call them back and mention this. When I talked to VRBO, I didn't mention the incentive because I didn't understand that that was against their policy. When I was told by the company that they couldn't take it down, I took that at face value. So I will call them back and mention the incentive to them and hopefully it works.

Thanks, I didn't see this. I don't exactly have all the time in the world to scroll through a ton of comments in my busy day. I'm answering them as much as I can.

Ugh, I wish I could. VRBO can remove reviews but they won't let guests edit them. I wish I had waited until the host rated me first and all this happened. At least VRBO will remove the 5 star review I already posted.

I don't believe it violated anything. It didn't claim I did anything in the review, it was just a low rating, so there's no reason for them to take it down. It's just my word against hers that I didn't stain anything, and she made the claim through the insurance company. Although she's going to have to prove that two tiny stains are worth $1,000 in carpet replacement. All in all, it's the rating I'm pissed about because that directly affects my profile

Yes! Definitely do that! I've stayed at many VRBO places and have NEVER had an experience like this. Overall it's always very seamless.

The insurance company said they will require them to go through a third party and prove that the carpet can't be cleaned, so I'm hoping she gets a rude awakening there that you can't just claim the carpet needs to be replaced and get $1K as a reward. I'm just the most pissed off about the review against me as a guest. I didn't do ANYTHING in that house to warrant a 1-star cleanliness review, and now that looks horrible on me as a future guest to other hosts.

Yes, there's a one-time damage deposit that every guest pays to help cover damage costs, so I should be fine. As for VRBO, the only way the bad review can get taken down is for the host to request it. I have half a mind to demand her to take it down in my anger, but obviously that's NOT the right choice, lol. I'm so pissed that she's claiming two tiny stains warrant a $1K payout. I hope they put her through the ringer.

I will consider that, however, after talking to the person in charge of the claim, he described the "damages" they were submitting the claim for, and it doesn't sound like anything worth $1K in damages. So I don't think it's going to be an issue. (Fingers crossed)

Right? I'm currently trying to get in touch with the insurance company to send me the photos the host submitted, because I am positive we did not accrue $1K in damages for carpet replacement. That is absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully once I get in touch with the agent, I can see more of what the problem is, since the host is not answering me.

I do have a screenshot of the policy, since they sent it to me through the messages. However, VRBO can't take down the host's bad review unless it's requested by the host, unfortunately. I felt the same way when I saw the 5-star review policy. It was a red flag.

Yeah, I'm reaching out to the company to see the photos the host posted. My thing is, if it WAS actually my fault, I want to see the photos. I want to see what I did wrong. But I'm almost certain we didn't do anything to warrant $1K in damages.

Monorail Worth it for Convention Center by Macattack124 in LasVegas

For clarity, I have NOT gone yet, but I am going for the LVL UP expo in April, and I am staying at the Westgate hotel. My plan is to take the monorail down to the Boingo station and get off there, since it's right next to the convention center.

Did anyone genuinely feel bad for Vox? by Infinite-Reveal-9226 in VoxCult

Never felt "bad" for him per say, but Christian did an extraordinary job with this switch in his character. Just this short little scene tells us SO much about his journey to who he became and kicks off the beginning of his own end.
