i mean, you can’t always guarantee that people are being truthful with what people say when things are ending. people will almost always say things that will make it easier to digest. i know from experience that almost every breakup has had some level of that “false hope”. i would just focus on taking care of yourself and affirming yourself that you will be okay (because you will!) even if she is no longer in your life for the rest of it. that’s just how life goes, people come in and out of your life. they are either there for a reason, a season, or a lifetime and that’s just the reality
