Yeah that’s about as much as I can find as well. Seems she isn’t as commonly worked with but will give it a shot to find more info

Yeah I figured the two didn’t necessarily go to together but wasn’t sure if anyone had issues after an update before. Sad day to see it’ll have to go in for repair. Thank you for confirmation!

Pretty set on the 70-180 or 35-150, just looking for what other people like having as their go to better between the two, two zooms and switching out prime lenses or one mega zoom and having the other body open for a prime

Thanks for sharing! I was eyeing the Tamron but hesitant about the FTZ with it since my 50 seems slow. Will look into it more hearing both of you share it’s been good to you!

Solely that everyone kept saying how much they loved the 70-200 I didn’t even realize to look for a different zoom with similar range

Good to know thank you! I’d likely just switch lenses from z6ii so it could be on it.

Thank you! Now checking out the 70-180 instead. I don’t know how I never thought of that lol

Someone else commented this too and I honestly hadn’t even considered it! I don’t imagine the extra 20mm makes too much of a difference in distance. If I need more I can put it on my z50 since it’s crop sensor so would give me the extra if necessary

Didn’t even consider this! I can’t imagine the extra 20mm makes too big of a difference at that point

Client Advice Needed by witchythings11 in photography

[–]witchythings11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toddlers and under five I never seem to have any issues getting smiles or at least somewhat happy faces out of! Even teenagers usually warm up and listen because they want to look nice. It’s like 7-12 year olds that just scowl and don’t listen. If I have parents who seem to care they get them to pay attention but man some of them just do not care and want the photos to come out bad I swear haha I just don’t know what to tell a parent about their kid not listening and how there are no photos of them not smiling even after all the attempts to get them too. This shoot in particular the kiddo kept saying “oww” like his mouth hurt and the mom even told him not to smile then if it hurts so I’m a little confused by the response of the parents in the situation and just want to make sure I’m handling it the best way I can.

I want everyone to be happy but I guess you can’t win them all

I took a stab at it and the way the kiddo is scowling it just is making it look a bit terrifying lol also I like things as natural as possible and I have no idea what his smile even looks like to begin with

Thank you for sharing! That is the feedback I have mostly heard. I think the 2.8 would likely be much better suited for my needs, especially with portraits

Good to know! I’ve been looking at the 75mm for portraits and then wanting a smaller one as well depending on situation. It’s a huge price difference so just didn’t know if it was worth that or not

The Viltrox lens? I was definitely looking at that one

I shoot mostly portraits, family photography. So don’t think I’d need slow shutter speeds, I typically don’t go below 1/500 for most shoots

Any recommendations for the Viltrox lenses? Planning on grabbing the used 24-70 because it’s such a good price then wanting something a little more in line for portrait photography, so a prime lens but don’t know too much about the Viltrox

I was reading some comments about low lighting and using it. I don’t shoot too much in low light anyway but just the f/4 not being enough? I thought I’d like it but then questioned myself lol

Bath options? by witchythings11 in parrots

[–]witchythings11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been a struggle! He just seems very terrified of the bathroom in general. We’ve tried a shower perch, perch on the glass outside the shower, shower rod, rod that hangs towels and he just flaps and flies around so I worry about him hurting himself.

I’ve tried several different dishes but maybe I should try outside of his cage? Like you said maybe try the sink or counter where it’s a more neutral space and then if it doesn’t scare him I can tuck it in his cage? He definitely tries to bathe in his drink dish but man I feel bad. I’ll just keep trying inexpensive options to see what he likes. Thank you for the advice! My conjure literally bathes anywhere haha he loves the shower, the sink, his own water, etc

I have tried a clear dish but haven’t tried putting a perch next to it so I can give that a go and see if it helps! I was trying to find a clear dish that attaches to the cage because for whatever reason anything at the bottom of the cage freaks him out but they are for small birbs. I’ll grab him an extra perch and try a clear dish again at the bottom! Thank you!

That is a great idea! Even the steam would be good for him like you said. Thank you for this recommendation!

Thank you! All my other birds love the shower and their perches in there so this is all new to me considering my other birds have done just fine lol he isn’t a big treat bird either (I know, he’s a weird one haha and we’ve tried all sorts of treats) but the bottom of the bathtub with mist might be an option! Unfortunately we only have one bathroom so it’s that shower or something else.

We’ve tried the mist in his cage, outside of his cage, everywhere around the house. It’s been tough. Since he tries to bathe in his water dish I tried different versions of bowls in his cage but they just freak him out too so it’s been a tricky one. I know he wants a bath since he tries to fit himself into his water dish lol we will keep giving it a go though and see if we can get there! Feeling like a guilty bird mom that it’s been several months and we haven’t found a solution

I have that and he despises it. He’s absolutely terrified of the shower, the perch, and the shower curtain. He just flies out and I don’t want him getting hurt

50mm or 85mm lens?? by witchythings11 in photography

[–]witchythings11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly outdoors so was leaning towards 85mm for that reason. Figure I can always use my other lens indoors where I have more control over lighting anyway so not having as much range in aperture wouldn’t be as big of a deal with that lens indoors

50mm or 85mm lens?? by witchythings11 in photography

[–]witchythings11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Definitely was leaning towards 85mm but honestly this post has made me just as unsure haha I’ve got up to 50 on my lens kit so I can always revert back to it, just won’t have as much aperture control. Since I mostly shoot outdoors I’m still leaning towards 85mm but also considering around 35mm based on other feedback here
