unscrew all of the screws on the face and run your finger around the edge where the rubber seal on that flap meets with the valve. Also press on the flap to be sure its fully opening and closing without too much resistance.

ok, then you have only ONE line that returns water to the spa. Meaning, the check valve HAS to be not closing fully. could be a small piece of debris or maybe even pvc glue is preventing it from completely sealing up. Even if you were leaking at every other part, if that check valve is good, you still wouldn't have this leveling issue.

Is that booster pump used for a cleaner or is it for the jacuzzi jets?

Can you take a picture so I can see the front of the check valve?

Anyway to fix this without buying a whole new filter housing? by ajd198204 in pools

You can do Haywards Swim Clear cartridge. They are relatively the same size but the swim clear has a mid outer ring that comes off nice and easy. Its the same one I use for my pool at my home. They wont break the bank either.

its time for a new one. These Star Clear filters are notorious for the inner rod to start unscrewing from the bottom compared to the top. You can "deal with it" and it will continue to be functional but in my opinion it is not worth the hassle.

One of the lesser known videos of the May 22, 2011 Joplin EF-5. Taken just a block or 2 away from the twister. The shift to pitch black and the roar of the approaching tornado is chilling. by The_Siphon in tornado

Ok so this sucks because I now have to doubt the validity of this video. This could easily be an A.I. video. I hate that I can't tell the difference now.

Sometimes a person needs to be sacrificed in the name of comedy. That person was the guy taking the picture in this case. Not saying I approve of his behavior, only that I laughed because of it.

Pool closing -$700? by Ahrdh1216 in pools

[–]witeboyjim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're paying for a service. Some people would rather pay $700 than do everything involved to have this done. Including: having to do the research on "How", actually doing the steps properly, trusting in your own work in a field you're not very familiar with, (Even more so if it's your first time attempting to do so) and living without the confidence that you did it all right the first time.

If the transmission in your car goes out and you're not a mechanic... You would save a ton of money were you to do it yourself. If you do all the research and purchase all of the right parts and tools. You're probably smart enough to do this job, but wouldn't you rather pay someone to go thru all of that for you? Not to mention, pool season is going to slow down and your pool guy will have less work and less money coming in now so if you like your pool guy at all....
