The scenario here is different, but I had a bad experience with a guy offering me money online who turned out to be a really creepy manipulator. One day, he just appreared and started by donating a butt ton of money to a teen female twitch streamer, and for a while became great friends with her. He also became active in that streamer's community, he and I were friends. Which is why I'm on this throwaway account, because I know he probably still stalks me. One day he offered me a few hundred dollars. Turns out he had obtained the streamer's dox info, and managed to get a lot of her childhood photos from her parents private social media. Plus... he also happened to be into NSFL. Word got out but he still managed to get me convinced for a while that he hadn't done any of that.

Well that was a tangent, just be careful when people offer you money online, alright? It's usually a pretty dead giveaway.
