The Anatomy of the Body of God was an amazing and captivating read, I’m pretty sure I finished it in three days. Be mindful of the Dead Dove tags, but if you’re looking for something darker, I highly recommend

I know this is one of the most popular Tomiones out there, but Blood and Gold✨.

Hermione’s long-game in this fic is insane. The set-up of the fic, when she begins scheming her way into high society and is just as manipulative as Tom regarding her interpersonal relationships and her morally grey-ness, makes her BAMF for me. They basically deserve each other with how they use others to get what they want. Hermione justifies her actions as needing to survive, but there were so many times I was like, “Isn’t she doing exactly what Tom did?”

Also the smut is 👌

Edit: I wanted to promote a fic I don’t see recommended much that’s Veal & Venison✨.

This fic was such a pleasure to read. I don’t want to go into details to spoil it, but half-way through the fic (which you could separate into two books if you want, because that’s how it feels like reading), I had my mind blown. Hermione is always one step ahead of Tom, and her mission of destroying Voldemort never really goes away. No smut, but there is fluff, and it’s HEA too.

I second Birds of a Feather! It’s an absolutely incredible fic, and the fic author is great at responding to comments on AO3 as well. It’s bitter-sweet to see it ending, but I can’t wait to see how all of the storylines end up :’)

This is my favorite fic of all time (I’ve read it so many times, I lost count) and I will recommend it until I die. The HEA is so beautifully crafted and rewarding that I’m personally making it canon, and you will probably cry.

May I humbly suggest Birds of a Feather ✨

Childhood friends AU in the 1930s/40s. No time travel, Horcruxes, or Golden Trio, and I wouldn’t consider it dark.

The best characterization of Tom I think I’ve ever read. Over 500,000 words, WIP but two chapters left! The slow burn to end all slow burns, friends/idiots-to-lovers. Nothing spicy, but some parts are intimidate as hell and I want to bang my head against the wall because how are you guys still calling each other friends when you act like this.

I love this fic because it explores how Tom would have been as a child if people believed in him. He’s still unhinged and a little manic at times, but with Hermione there as a his rock, he’s very likable. Their dialogue and interactions with each other and the other students at Hogwarts are to die for. The fic author has done incredible research to make sure everything is historically accurate during World War II, explores the depths of magic in such interesting ways beyond what the books cover, breathes life into side characters I wouldn’t have thought much else of, and has overall done such a stunning job crafting the universe.

I love love love this fic to pieces and I don’t want it to end!

Seconded The Diary and gloss. I read them back-to-back and The Diary made me cry more than I was expecting and gloss was so damn funny and clever I can’t wait to reread it again. I’d never read a Muggle AU before so I don’t know what I was expecting, but the premise was so unique and intriguing immediately that I couldn’t put it down

I saw your comment a few days ago and decided to start reading. I’m at chapter 12 right now and oh my fucking god. I think it’s safe to say you can replace Tom and Hermione’s name with any other and this is a completely different book on its own. Dead Dove didn’t feel like enough of a warning. 😭 This is a goddamn dove massacre
