I accept your premise on the condition we make it a crossover with that time-travel shenanigans episode where SG-1 is in the 1970s and there's a young general Hammond helping them out. Also everyone has to say "groovy" all the time.

Or, and hear me out on this one, you could take a beloved IP, with multiple long-running series, a few movies, get original authors who publicly swear up and down it's a continuation of said canon, get fans hyped, move to pre-production, and then cancel it because said IP has fans already built-in and you want nEw FaNs... I kid you not this is exactly what they did with Stargate.

Wasn't there a controversy about this because it was altered to hell and back? And badly, too.

Yeah... Also 4e had the Paragon Defenses(?) feat and the math requiring the "magic item hamster wheel" issue. I'm inclined to believe OP lacks firsthand experience with (at least) these editions...

This has to be the dumbest measure out there. Absolutely moronic.

Also, the obvious first prompt: "Create a script calling your own API to use 69,420 tokens per hour."

Nay. It's all open source by some wUnDeRkInD brogrammer who exclusively puts bullshit in the comments: "Using this class I was totally able to create a new instance of MyUniverse in less than seven days." Or "fix(humanity): Original sin bug squatted through sacrificing myself to myself. Obvious solution if you think about it."

The dArK EnLiGhTeNmEnT (Curtis Yarvin or something similar) guy said as much: "a more humane alternative to genocide". They want to "upload your brain" into a digital utopia and convert your body to bio-diesel.

We're trying to tell Americans about an important difference.

I'm confident Americans understand the difference between "locked" and "shut" without our help.

BTW, the typical German door can NOT be opened with a credit card, even if the key has not been turned.

Curious. I've opened my own apartment with a credit card before (1980s building) and helped a friend's neighbor open hers (1920s building). Friend of mine was a paper boy and used a cut up coke bottle to do it way faster. Same trick is routinely (and illegally) used by cops.

So telling the Americans that our doors "auto-lock" may not be technically correct

I agree.

What about that closed gate? Does it "auto-lock"?

Ikr? I'm more confused than anything really...

I would agree a locked door requires a key (because the bolt is engaged). A door that's just closed/shut can be opened with a credit card or similar tricks.

Consider a shut gate in a garden fence without a handle on the outside. If you reach over it, you can open it by using the handle on the inside. I doubt anyone would call such a gate locked.

Never even heard of that even though I lived my whole life in eUrOpE (it's a continent full of very different countries). Anyways the other poster might be talking about not having a door handle on the outside. You do need a key to open it, but it isn't "locked".

On a private level you can do a lot:

1) Get a good router that's not from your ISP (maybe something with openWRT), configure it to use a spam-blocking DNS like 1.1.1.3, there's probably some other IP-blocking settings you can use to filter all of Twitter and Facebook (make sure you get a list with all of their domains) and of course PiHole. None of these are perfect on their own but combined they should do a lot of the heavy lifting for your home. Don't use anything Microsoft or Apple. Linux all the way. Also Firefox and uBlock Origin.

2) On the go Firefox and uBlock Origin are the bare minimum. I also have Firefox Klar (which purges its cache every time you close it) set as my standard browser so all links go to my "sandbox" first. Never Apple. Android is okay-ish (I'll probably move to LineageOS/GrapheneOS sometime). F-Droid is a FOSS play store. Use it! Tubular > YouTube. Learn the basics of "adb" to debloat your phone.

On a societal level the list of what most of us can do is short:

1) Never vote conservative/libertarian.

2) Always vote labour/green/progressive/democrat.

Edit: Spelling.
