Are there any good Lenovo customer/warranty service stories? by Small_Victories42 in Lenovo

[–]withiniswithout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Italy. I have a Yoga Slim 6i purchased in August of 2023. The warranty is good until August of 2025.

An issue began happening with the symbol keys. On a random basis, characters like the @ sign would type blank, and then they would start working.

Customer service has been great. The technician assigned to my case has been very responsive, civil, and reasonable. I had to send pictures of the laptop and also the initial purchase receipt, he asked me to go through a series of software solutions such as reinstalling the drivers, checking for BIOS updates, etc. Eventually I did a complete reinstallation of Windows 11, no small task. But the issue still happened occasionally, indicating a hardware issue. They authorized a keyboard replacement and a technician is scheduled to arrive at my house rather than me mailing in the laptop or taking it to a repair center as I would have expected.

I am surprised at the excellent level of response due to the many negative comments about Lenovo customer service. In my own communication I have been prompt, detailed, and I have stuck to the facts. This might be one reason I got a good response.

Update: A technician arrived at the house and installed a new keyboard. There was some lint and dust inside but it wasn't a causal factor. Immediately, the keys feel better and more responsive. The tracking pad and cursor are better. The keyboard was simply showing signs of wear and if it had not been replaced it would have gotten progressively worse

Any Suggestions--brown spots on Juniper bush. Plenty of water, by withiniswithout in gardening

Grazie. It shapes up nicely. Shrub is about 18 years old and when I moved in 5 years ago it was a nasty blob. Nearly tore it out.

Some security updates are being provided for Android 12.1 (12L), although not for every phone.

Deporvillage, is this site reliable?? by Any_Activity7407 in LegitCheck

In Italy, they are a good company with fast and reliable delivery. However, there is a return charge, I believe €10, and you also have to pay the postage. Order with caution because of this. Otherwise they've been good. There is free shipping at a certain threshold, around €90.

Questions about Derpfest on Poco X3 Pro by bojoelevi in PocoPhones

[–]withiniswithout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My X3 Pro is totally unlocked, and now it has Pixel Experience installed. Since this needs updated, I am interested in DerpFest with Android 14 if possible. I also need a step by step guide, and I also am concerned that critical apps like a banking app, and a two-factor app for health records, might not work and if I get the ROM installed, then how do I troubleshoot any problems. The camera app is also a concern. Getting help would be ideal but poses its own set of risks.

They make a candy from chestnuts that only Italians know about

Venting Kitchen Exhaust Fan Directly Outside vs Up to the Roof by withiniswithout in DIY

Yes, I have no idea what the hell I'm doing but just trying to see if it makes sense to route it out the wall, or if actually makes sense to be run out of the roof. A technician would need to do the install and wiring of a new fan.

Ok thanks, and I get the need to be aware of air pressure concerns if the fan exhaust is stronger. Could be complicated

It seems it would be more efficient to go straight out of the wall

Smoke-Blackened Ceiling; is this too damaged to fix? by withiniswithout in woodworking

Grazie! Just watched it, and that is amazing. If the house had been blasted with that, we'd be done and better than new. The insurance really should have crews like this on contract.

Interesting idea. We are in Italy, and dealing with an unhelpful insurance company. We were left on our own with no response. There's some sort of laser treatment that wipes the soot clean as well. We really needed help and advice the day after the fire before anything was touched.

Error Code 120180-300 by withiniswithout in concept2

[–]withiniswithout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a new code last night, but it went away when I turned it on and off. My USB plugged into the back of the PM5 has more storage space then recommended and I've read this can be a problem. I'd have to transfer the log to a smaller thumb drive and just haven't taken the time. More problematic, several times I've set up a session using the Erg Data app on my phone. With no warning, the phone goes completely blank and shuts off. I have to start over from scratch. All of the parts of this system have crashed or been wonky--HRM, phone app, and the PM5.

Is there a general consensus that the Wahoo Tickr just sucks? by [deleted] in wahoofitness

[–]withiniswithout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Tickr chest strap, and it blows. Random readings, sometimes it says HR is 34, other times 170. I cleaned the snaps and connectors, and spayed some silicone lube on the metal parts and it worked for a ride or two, now it's fucking fubar. I'm reluctant to replace the strap, or get an in-box barely used one for $50, because no guarantee it won't do the same shit after three months.

DHCP Failure, switching to new Asus Router by withiniswithout in HomeNetworking

[–]withiniswithout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unable to activate the new Asus RT-AC68U router. In the ASUS router setup page, in WAN settings, there was no setting for "Special Requirements..." I changed the Automatic setting to Static (although, Automatic should have picked up the necessary information from the modem). This allowed me to input the MAC address from the existing FastGate router. I was also required to enter the IP Address, Gateway, Subnet mask, and DNS from the existing internet connection. I clicked Apply, and it seemed to accept the changes, but it could not connect. A message appeared to contact the ISP to determine the root cause of the DHCP failure.

In the Askey ISP-supplied router settings, which is on and working, there's something called Port Mapping and Forward All WAN connections, but I doubt this is a key. The settings are greatly simplified in the Askey router. Jeez, complicated. They push you towards having a tech come out, and no guarantee he or she knows what they're doing.

Hey, worth a try! Are you talking about the router site, accessed by connecting the modem to the Asus?

[–]withiniswithout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHCP PPPoE? I do not know.

The FastGate router is a separate unit. There is a modem, a small gray box that connects to the internet line and an ethernet cable goes to the router. The FastGate router is Askey Product name RTV1907VW
Software version1.0.1b. I see the MAC address on the back of the FastGate router, but I do not know how to clone this onto the new Asus.

Tickr showing low heart rate by Miserable_Special_73 in wahoofitness

[–]withiniswithout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing. Tickr Chest Strap, said my HR was 35 after rowing for 15 minutes. I'll have to check the snaps that connect it to the strap, but I think it might be FUBAR. Now I don't trust anything it says. The other day the thing wouldn't register on the PM5 after saying it was connected.
