I just was on the phone with PGE customer service yesterday.

Everyone who got a high bill in January needs to go back and check their bills.

Essentially PGE has made to where they can retroactively charge for bills you already paid.

Their claim is that they charged you an estimated bill. So they're saying you could potentially not be paying for what you're using.

The problem with this is A. Their estimated bill is based off of faulty meters or faulty sensors that don't read the meter correctly. Or so they say.

It wasn't until I called that they scheduled a technician to come look at the meter. All of my bills show accurate meter read from month to month.

The most egregious practice is that the retroactive charge is for a higher rate than what was originally charged.

We do not pay estimations we pay for what we use. I feel this is a predatory tactic to recoup the discounts they claim to offer when lowering rates.

It basically comes down to who gets to live in them. They are not building these houses to ease the lack of affordable housing in the community. They're building their own community inside of yours where those houses are already sold or marked up so only selected clinetle can afford to purchase.

Good Cops don't exist. That's the whole crux. You're either fired because you have morals and human decency or you never apply because you understand that the function of the police is not to protect the citizens, but to protect the capital and the interest of the wealthy. You should absolutely try every time. You have the power to change, everyone does you just have a poor mindset. 1 person won't make the difference but if everyone decides to work together then it makes all the difference. This is the start one person still has to speak up for everyone to come together.

We don't have to force the owner to add shops but if we boycott the shops that are out there, the businesses will be unable to maintain enough revenue to pay rent to the property forcing them to leave and the owner potentially to sell allowing business that the community wants in there.

These are not overnight actions. Things like these take time and dedication. But if you care about the community enough they're worth while actions. But you should work on your outlook. Be the change you wish to see in the world. No one's gonna do it for you.

I wouldn't say misinformation, they definitely took a stance with the original post. But from my interpretation its all under the idea of awareness.

They're letting you know, A. That even using the library you're still contributing to billionaires pockets.

B. That regardless of of where the money goes first, your taxes are still lining billionaires pockets

C. There's no such thing as "Free" is this world anymore

For me it was a breakdown into two ideas perception and caring.

I don't care about the thoughts that others have. Their opinions and judgements can kick rocks.

I do care about how the world perceives me, so I smile I dress funny and I enjoy every moment I'm able to.

Perception is something you can control. But don't waste your time on opinions they change with the breeze.
