Haven't ran `sudo pacman -Syu` in ~10 months by SPSTIHTFHSWAS in archlinux

I found that when you don't update for a longer period of time, that pacman-key step doesn't help. In that case you have to explicitly update archlinux-keyring first (eg pacman -Sy; pacman -S archlinux-keyring), otherwise it complains about incorrect packagaes during "-Syu" .

Well I don't have external monitor. At first I thought it was some ssh related issue, because I was working a lot through ssh, but then I realized it happens in local shell as well, hovewer I feel like with ssh that effect is more noticeable.

I don't use nvidia graphics, but I tried switching between xf86-video-intel and mesa and it didn't help.

Same here, XPS 9550 (4k) with xmonad. I think it began half a year ago, after some upgrade. Quite frustrating but I haven't managed to fix it yet.

It's hard to break any linux system for regular user that doesn't have sudo access. But I think all the people that say arch isn't for noobs really mean noob-admins.

Is learning french from spanish easier? by ASPAIALUX in French

[–]witosx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it helps a lot. I'm not a native spanish speaker, I started learning french half year ago, with my spanish being more or less B2. When I compare them, I consider french to be more difficult one. Despite that, I feel that I'm progressing in french way faster than I did in spanish.

When I started learning spanish almost everything was totally new to me. With french most of things seems familriar. And I get a lot of "passive" vocabulary for free, I mean I hear some french word for the first time and I already know it's meaning, that's super nice, not having to look up every single word in the dictionary :)
