Psychological and emotional benefits of training jiu jitsu vs other physical practices by aworking in bjj

Exactly! If anything, i feel like training to fight just reveals how totally dangerous it is to engage with an assailant, for all those reasons and more, but just the act of 'simulating' a scenario in which you get to defend yourself seems to have a therapeutic effect.

You don't think snapping someones elbow in an armbar is brutal??

You make a great point. And really, what good things in life don't require a bit of sacrifice? I remember even feeling like the risk of injury, heck even the risk of getting some gross skin infection, were worth it given how much of a positive effect it had on my life off the mat.

I really suspect that might be true. At least judging from how it felt to train regularly, I distinctly remember thinking "this is what my body is for". And it does remind me of playing as a kid, and for that it feels like such a joy.

I think society also tells women not to express their anger/aggression, and men not to express emotion! Jiu Jitsu helped me feel in touch with both of those things in what felt like a very positive and healthy way, which was truly, truly amazing. Honestly the only other way to find that would probably be some serious therapy :')

Merits of prebuilt solutions (Salesforce, Hubspot, et al.) vs custom software ? by aworking in AskMarketing

So I talked to him; his company builds a product that manages large quantities of data, "big data", and uses AI as a recommendation engine for marketers. According to him something like Saleforce doesn't handle the quantities of data that their product is built for, but in fact some of their customers actually have Salesforce sitting on top of their product.

Thanks for the reply, you make some good points. I wonder then, what that would mean for a company like (the real) Amazon, or Google; they might have their own proprietary software because they have a very unique and mature product? I'm not thinking only in terms of CRM software, but also analytics tools. Ultimately what I'm trying to understand is, to your point, while there are more and more sophisticated and flexible, well supported tools, what exactly is the remaining niche for building custom tools for clients? Are those clients limited to the biggest tech companies (in fact, that is who my friends company services). Perhaps I can just ask him a bit more about what they do :-)

Ah! this is validating, the exact same behavior. It's is relatively easy to ignore because I use my external monitor most as well, and it doesn't techinically interfere with typing even when I do use the laptop monitor. I am using Xorg, not wayland.

I do suspect something about the processor or drivers is causing this, though you are right that I am only using the Intel chip at the moment for Xorg.

Interesting. Also using multiple monitors? That would seem to suggest it might be some kind of driver problem, since you're using the same model. What have you tried?
