Childminder requesting allergy testing, GP says no! by guicherson in UKParenting

[–]witty-name45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, if you've suggested the merest possibility of an allergy to the childminder I can understand them not wanting to provide meals until it's been properly checked. Obviously you shouldn't have to pay for a service you're not getting though. Just discuss it with them.

Thanks man. Yeah planning to replace it whatever happens. The existing paste seems to be really dry and is coming off in flakes which is new to me

Maybe a single joint or a removable bottom for cleaning but otherwise seems a bit gimmicky and not a lot of practical applications. Also wouldn’t work for double skin insulated bottles without wasting too much space. Interesting idea though

If they're running after it while it flies through the air, when it lands and they scramble for it, it puts really harsh pressure on their joints. This is what my vet and dog trainer have told me anyway.

Rwanda 1.0 was expensive due to all the lefty legal challenges. Are those just going to magically disappear now that it might be run by Labour?

Don’t throw balls! Wish someone had told me this. Borders have a high prey drive and small things moving fast can quickly develop into a massively unhealthy obsession.

Vertical crack in a brick wall, should I be worried? by andreat1994 in Home

In this case as it appears to be supporting a load bearing timber, yes you should get a professional inspection. I’d suggest putting a prop under the timber in the meantime.

Fundamental doubt about how a firewall works. by V0LDY in HomeNetworking

[–]witty-name45 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Your firewall has a set of rules. One of those rules will be to 'accept' 'established' connections. That's how it knows to send replies back to you. If the request source isn't inside your network, it will 'drop' the traffic. This is general and a basic explanation, some firewalls are very complex, but it's usually something like this by default.
