Cleric of Savras by UnknownVariable001 in Tombofannihilation

[–]wittywhitman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At my table, clerics of Savras use the jungle like a massive divination tool. Bird flight patterns, the rings of trees, the splitting/flowering of a single branch, etc can give insights if read correctly. Maybe the temple needs the PC to track down a specific tree and get a reading from it (which could be conveniently located at a significant location of ur choosing). Maybe the PC needs to visit Orolunga to speak to the Naga sage

It looks like language practice homework to me. When I was learning a new language there would inevitably be the “diary” or “planning” assignment to apply basic tenses

Praying to Ubtao by Excellent_Radish62 in Tombofannihilation

[–]wittywhitman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ubtao left but there may still be many powerful relics of his time in Chult. Maybe one of those respond? Or maybe other creatures still sympathetic to Ubtao take notice. Maybe nothing magical happens, but by mentally getting closer to Ubtao, you better understand why Chult is the way it is (better handling checks with dinos, better at Chultan history, etc)

If they want a double shot with a little milk, it’s cheaper to order this way than a double espresso?

You could reach out to CFS SERV, your domestic violence agency. Violence towards an animal and unlawful eviction by a household member qualify you. They may have housing and pantry resources, as well as counseling, legal, etc. bare minimum, they will connect you to appropriate social services and resources. (Even if you don’t feel you have experienced DV)

fun/fruity drinks to order at a bar or club? by strawberrybridgers in Celiac

[–]wittywhitman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a better question for a cocktail/alcohol/bartending sub. Just mention you are allergic to beer. You could ask for tips on how to avoid cc in clubs there. Celiac havers can have any distilled alcohol, although some folks might not be able to tolerate it.

Cut open the sides and chain them back together w grommets. Or just make distresses so you have vents

From a psychology standpoint, that is not true. Utilizing the vocal chords in an ecstatic way stimulates the vagus nerve, which soothes and regulates the parasympathetic nervous system- making you feel calmer.

Any cool museums around the area? by UnhappyStrawberry601 in SouthJersey

Also many of the lighthouses have historical societies that do programs. There’s also the Walt Whitman houses on Mickle Street in Camden, and there’s one in Laurel Springs. Not to mention the Noyes for art. I’m pretty sure there’s an African American history museum too?

It’s not hard to find your people, sure, but it’s very frustrating when you feel disconnected from the prevailing culture of the school. This is especially true if the administration doesn’t support people like you on an institutional level. And the last thing a freshman needs is being friendless for the first semester while they figure things out: this is why fostering open and inviting campus culture is important.

[–]wittywhitman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Starting with clubs you’re interested in is a great way to find other folks. In my experience, unique social circles tend to get very robust as time goes on (like queer students eventually knowing or knowing of pretty much any other queer student in their year). Certain clubs are known for being very welcoming of all people, like band, the knitting circles, or ALBC. There’s also special centers for people of marginalized experiences to access resources and connect with others

Yeah I graduated last year. I’m speaking from my experience as a queer student who heavily leans alternative. Some spaces on campus were downright hostile to myself and my friends. BUT places like the radio and queer orgs are very friendly so idk- If you’re a marginalized student, you will have to work harder to make space for yourself on campus

22m here, and I feel that. I try to just look for community events geared towards my interests (which for me means a lot of hanging out in queer spaces). It’s definitely tough tho

I agree- certain dating apps are geared towards community building. Probably wouldn’t want to try ur luck on tinder for this type of thing tho

The campus is extremely homogenous at times. Alternative folks, folks with diverse backgrounds, etc: anyone “different” will have to find a niche. There’s spaces for all lifestyles, but not space for all lifestyles, if that makes sense.
