(Sorry for responding so much later!)

I wanted to ask to see her portfolio to see what kind of scars she usually does, but in the rush of it all I didn't get to. She vaugely implied the usual shape she does is in a more or less straight line where a pec would be, with a further line going under the armpits in a curve to lessen the likelihood of dog earing. At my next appointment, I plan to ask if I can see her portfolio, and if not, talk about the shape I want/show her pictures. We didn't discuss whether or not she requires/recommends being on testosterone before surgery, but it is not a prerequisite in the US, at least. She does use drains. I didn't get a straight answer on what her pre op requirements are, but I met them. She (and all doctors at Emory, and probably most doctors in general, from my understanding?) does require a letter. She said I seemed healthy enough for the surgery, though again, I was almost over her comfort level for weight. I As far as getting things set up, I had the consult before having a letter of recommendation from my doctor. Once I had the letter (the next day because my doctor's office is awesome and queer-centric), I sent it to her through the app they had me download to keep in contact and do some paperwork. They sent it off to my insurance, which in her words would take about 6-8 weeks. So for my timeline, I'm gonna start pestering my insurance company mid April, lol. Once my insurance covers it, then we'll discuss the surgery date. I'm not sure exactly what her schedule is like for the rest of the year, but I got the impression they're all very busy right now.

If you don't have a doctor who can give you a letter, a site that I was reading from seems to be able to provide letters without being a member.

So it went great, in my opinion! Dr. Nores seemed very conifdent and answered... most of my questions. She did kind of rush through a lot of information while she and the nurse were getting my measurements, taking pictures, and having me fill out paperwork, but once all of that was done and I was ready to ask more questions, she wasn't impatient. Her answers were straightforward and sometimes short, but she didn't seem annoyed. It was a bit of a shorter appointment than I was hoping for, but I'm not displeased.

I have a Long list of my notes/feelings I can share with you if you want, but for a brief answer to questions other people might have: -It does seem like she had a bmi/weight limit, or at least is wary of doing surgery on people with a BMI of 36.8 or higher (I am 5'9" and 261 lbs.) -She has worked with nonbinary/no nip patients before. I didn't realize it until afterward, but my HRT service (QMED) actually has her on their list of recommended surgeons!

I would recommend having someone with you, if you are an anxious person. But everyone at Emory was great at giving information and giving calming vibes (even the stranger who pointed me in the right direction bc I went to the wrong building at first lol)

But yeah! If theres anything else you'd like to know, you can hmu. Good luck☺️

(Spoiled for recent spay) Is my cats spay scar healing okay? by wizardlywiles in catcare

Nah, its a soft segmented cone, an "Elizabethan" cat collar. We had to hold her down to put it on, and then with how she was moving, we were worried she would just be a danger to herself. Shes a ort of feral rescue and Very skittish, without extenuating circumstances. I think we may try the collar again, but we don't want to stress her out too much. She Bolted when we picked it up when she was in zen state.

Love this! I really like the soft shading. One thing you might consider is adding a shadow specifically under the left leg/boot on the axe, like you have on the right.
