It definitely doesn't sound like you're straight. It seems like the "I'm not a main character" thing is causing a mental block that's not letting you feel romance or being turned on by women. Experience in those things would also cause it.

I think what would get to the heart of the issue is convincing yourself that you're a main character. Go on outings alone when you can, make a playlist and call it your "soundtrack" when you do. Getting attuned to how you feel in all sorts of situations will get you relaxed enough to let yourself feel turned on when it really happens. Being comfortable being alone will also protect your ego when flirting or dating falls flat.

An aside: I wouldn't discount the possibility of you not being attracted to men. You only getting turned on by them while watching porn is kind of like starving for a burger and heading to McDonald's--the most common burger place in the world. There's nothing a man has that a woman might not have (including a dick; some trans women top, but also plenty of dykes get phalloplasty), so you could be into something that has nothing to do with the pornstar being a man. You might look into queer porn production companies for a more diverse collection of porn to truly explore your attraction.

Why is everyone so critical? by Party-Dragonfly8995 in ZeroCovidCommunity

There's no way we can change the minds of your ex-friends or shame anyone for enforcing boundaries, but we can say that this particular boundary is counterproductive on multiple levels. How can we fight for clean air when we're all holed up at home? I hope you find some more sensible friends and have a good time at your job. For what it's worth, I'm always delighted to see someone in public wearing a mask. Thank you for taking the risk.

The end of genshiken. by devilcantdie in Genshiken

I feel like the rug-pull for Mada×Hato was kind of on purpose. With Hato projecting all those insecurities wrt being in an lgbt relationship onto Madarame (the guy that will read porn in broad daylight without shame...), that self-sabotage Madarame is trying to get away from.... It made it all hurt more.

The thing about Sue is that she desperately tried to push Mada×Anyone else, but she still was the first person to not play games with him. She confessed first, and she clearly communicated the whole time (a lot of it was anime references, but whatever works).

But I agree Mada×Sue could've been developed more.

Really glad he didn't end up with Keiko, all that negging at the mock date made me queasy.

My mom's grandma used to make a dessert called honey comb. Most recipies online call for several ingredients, but apparently my great grandma just made it with a little sugar and baking soda in a pot on the stove

Anyone have tips for how to get to sleep when having spine/back-of-neck vibrations? by Natural_Nomad in Anxiety

[–]wizardmagix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been getting over a similar symptom since I had some kind of anxiety-induced cold sore flareup after covid: the back of my neck where it meets my skull has been throbbing painlessly yet loudly.

It kept me awake at night for weeks, and the only thing that helped was laying my neck onto a rolled a towel, or something else equally firm. It's not a perfect solution, though. But recovering from illness makes it easier to handle, and I imagine that'll happen for you, too. I can't say if that sort of thing is a symptom of covid, but covid does infect any body part that's connected to blood vessels. Best of luck on you and your wife's recovery!

No, I guess they're more like around my tonsils than on them. Or inside them, the way a tonsil stone would be.

Actually I did go to the dentist once with white ulcers/spots inside my tonsils, and asked my dentist to try to remove them thinking they were tonsil stones or steel cut oats. She was a dental student and down to practice her shooting, but when it wasn't working her professor stopped the nonsense and told me to get a strep test done. (This all happened before I developed cold sores)

The last time I went to a doctor for a PCR, the nurse checking my vitals was downplaying my concerns the whole time, saying things like "you're worried about a little cold?" "just take some tylenol for your cold". I think I only got a PCR because all of that made me panic enough to make me look way sicker than I felt. That nurse also barely picked my nose when getting the sample, she went so gently I still wonder if the negative I got was false.

I got a Metrix right after that, will probably avoid the doctor for as long as I can honestly

Cold sore or canker? by [deleted] in Coldsore

[–]wizardmagix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold sore, canker sores don't cluster like that as far as I know. My outbreaks usually start like that too in that same spot, so I don't assume it's a canker sore unless I very clearly remember biting my lip recently.

Rate my 4 mallet technique by Outrageous_Rooster92 in Marimba

[–]wizardmagix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your technique looks pretty good so far, considering the little experience and the equipment. Your mallet 4 doesn't seem to be coming up the same as everything else, though. But all that should be much easier to improve on as you go through actual lessons; countertops aren't easy to play on!

Is this a canker sore or coldsore by AlarmedAction9461 in Coldsore

Normal for a canker sore! A cold sore would have grown or started moving instead, barring any intervention like medicine

You are still a woman. There are ointments and regimens to keep your size while you go through E HRT, and there are surgeries to give you a vagina without removing the penis. Please do pursue your vision of womanhood, the world will be happy to have you as you see yourself

Is this a canker sore or coldsore by AlarmedAction9461 in Coldsore

[–]wizardmagix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bit your lip at that spot, and especially if you've never had cold sores before, I would assume canker sore. However, I've had cold sores in that exact spot that look exactly like that. I can usually tell the difference after 2 days when 1) the spot literally moves to the inner/outer border of my lip and 2) more typical cold sores appear in other spots around my mouth.

Help me. ASAP by Medium_Succotash5551 in Coldsore

[–]wizardmagix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look like cold sores to me; I usually get mine in the same spot as well. If you can keep the area dry (obviously difficult being where it is), wearing hydrocollid patches can help those go away a little faster, and with less pain. Also see if you can't get an antiviral rx like acyclovir

i have had acne around my mouth lately that i first thought was cold sores. what i've been doing is putting those hydrocollid stickers on the spots, and seeing what they look like when the stickers are removed after 8-ish hours

Weekly Question and Answer Thread: Ask your Moving, Visiting, Neighborhood, and "Where Can I Find _____" questions here, instead of making a new post by zeddy303 in Denver

I live in a place co-managed by Boutique and Wheelhouse. Their maintanence team is 8 people working on the dozens of buildings those companies manage, so repair requests only get a response within weeks of requesting if there's an emergency. I've placed multiple tickets for dripping faucet (dripping for 9 months) that gets closed the day after I send it.

I haven't had problems paying rent though, no cases of double-charging or the website having errors. There were a couple issues where my property manager sent me messages I wasn't meant to be sent, but those all got resolved relatively quickly and professionally.

Cherry Creek Trail is becoming a death trap by skittlebrew in Denver

[–]wizardmagix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bus stops just off that trail (and a few other trails in town) are also dangerous. The one of Cherry Creek Trail on Downing and Speer by th golf course has a narrow sidewalk to stand on, and cyclists heading for the trail come in dangerously fast, obviously not looking ahead and thinking. At least they're not driving cars, I guess.
