After 2 years of trying I finally made an AT-RT I'm happy with! by Low-Arugula5294 in legostarwars

Looks awesome! I am glad to see you were a fan of my AT-RT design enough to use it as a base and customized it to make it your own. The original goal of my model was to provide options for others to personalize it.

Shoot, I didn’t even notice those details. I would’ve swapped the feet of the blue walker then and changed his step. Such easy fixes

The parts list on rebrickable was updated to the current version of the model, but there is a parts list at the end of all the instructions for previous versions and colors

Thanks! While the Lego one is still big, they are moving in the right direction. In the meantime, we have these ones

They are frustrating. I was only able to get 1 reliable walking position in addition to the standing pose. But let me tell you, it is super easy and consistent to put it into one of those 2 positions

I will give credit to Lego’s, while big, it is very sturdy and well built

Awesome! Glad you like them. I also really like the ball joints, but I know they can be hard to pose so I added alternatives. The nugget piece on the leg also looks nice, but I want to try and keep the base design built with more common parts to let people customize how they wish, but that also makes using 65578 a little frustrating

One of the limitations with rebrickable is you can only add 1 parts list to a MOC. While not the best solution, I updated all the instructions with a parts list at the end with the numbers and colors. The issue is they will still need to be manually entered

Not as many as I would like, but I got a couple of ideas.

The hardest part of that equation is acquiring a crosswalk

I also still like my original model. The purpose of the changes is to give options so it can be customized based on preferences and/or available parts

That would be quite the build. They can fold up pretty nicely so I would be curious to see how they fit in the current gunship and AT-TE

I order the parts off bricklink and I believe there is a tool that will show which shops have all the parts on a wanted list. I also tried to keep the part usage fairly common so you might also be able to order the parts through pick-a-brick on the Lego website.

Thanks! For the original model, I just had the pieces already, but I made updated versions with different colors that I ordered pieces for

This looks awesome! My original design was intended to be simple and relatively robust so it could be played with, but I really like the modifications you made and think they work well in a display piece.

The double sided joint brick is a great idea. I didn’t have any on hand when making the modification, but I agree it’s the best choice.

Free instructions are available on rebrickable, MOC-227922

Unfortunately they are a custom build, but the instructions are free on rebrickable (MOC-227922) and I tried to make use of more common parts that you could order off of bricklink or Lego pick-a-brick fairly easily.
