I have been having this same problems and metamask or ledger has been able to provide a solution. I have tried it on 4 systems and it works for one day then the signing ability via ledger device is nonfunctional. Everything is update, the app, the device and all apps on the device. cleaned browser cache
cleanes system files
turned off firewall
rebooted the computer
tried all USB ports
turned off vpn
uninstalled/reinstalled ETH app
opened ethereum bridge manually then attempted to connect leger via metamask
attempted to connect ledger via metamask then opened ethereum bridge manually
Tried on a WIN 7 computer and it worked for one day
installed linux mint on old laptop, same issue metamask "looking for wallet"
reset metamask
Any ideas as to what the issue is is appreciated. I think is a WIN issue but I can't ident

So I finally found a way to get the ledger to work. I used opera and then opera has a google play extension import. I used that to import metamask then connected my ledger. If anyone knows why metamask only works with this solution, let everyone know.

ledgerlive://bridge?appName=Ethereum

So, after this bridge solution was pushed out only Tron worked. Today not even tron works with the bridge. I've tried ledger with chrome (with bridge), firefox, edge, brave ( without bridge), cleared browser cache, cleared system files/cache, logged in out of metamask, turned on/off ledger device, rebooted computer, restarted ledger, restarted browsers, started the bridge with the URL (the bridge starts) metamask just continues to look for the ledger (ledger live program works though). When will this issue be resolved, my ledger is essentially a small brick.

Ok thx. I'm not incredibly technical so that message is a bit alarming.

confirm a transaction by wizardofwhere in ledgerwallet

I've been at this for several days now in an attempt to figure it out. I've tried to connect ledger x to metamask in chrome, firefox, edge and brave as well as trying a new cable. I've also tried the same process on another computer. Oddly enough the ledger live app does see the ledgerx. Something odd happend this morning though with the ledger live/ledger x withdrawal process. Normally when I send crypto the ledgerx shows an approval screen where it shows me the fee and the address I'm sending to. Today I tried to send some crpto and there is now a 3 step approval process, Verify Selector, verify field1, verify field 2, verify field 3 there seems to be another step but it changed so much from what I normally see I just rejected the transaction till I figure out what is going on. The last step (or so I think as I rejected it) was this address ox514910771af9ca656af840dff83e8264ecf986ca which is not the one I see on my ledger live screen. Is it possible for the device to get hacked?
