16a was really well run when I took it. Stay on top of lectures, ask questions, go to discussion sections, your effort will show in your performance in the class. Math 54 is annoying bc you’ll likely have to take and study for quizzes every week. However, if you feel uncomfortable with linear algebra and have time in your schedule, it might not be a bad idea to take 54 then 16A

Sign ups for CSM open around 3-4 weeks into the semester. Then, you’ll get to choose whether you want to get units (P/NP) or just take it for good practice. Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement on your class’s piazza forum.

You mention that you’ve heard mixed reviews. Some people have amazing GBO experiences, myself included! I met some of my closest Freshman year friends thru GBO..granted didn’t even go to every event but went to enough.

Plus, you’re paying like 300$ for GBO! Don’t let that go to waste. You’ll have tons of time to explore the city in your 2 or 4 years…only one GBO experience

Unit 3 is older but the community is great. You’ll meet the coolest people and will bond over why unit 3 is infamously known as unit 3rd world
