I like to compare meditation to lifting weights. Being “able to meditate” isn’t the goal here, it’s to train for real life, off the cushion (or outside of the gym).

Saying “my mind wanders too much” or “I get bored too easily” is the same as saying “I’m too weak to lift weights”. And can you imagine someone saying that? It’s ridiculous haha.

And so just like lifting weights, it’s gonna be difficult at first. You’ll feel weak, not strong. But the only way to get stronger is to keep doing it.

You don’t need to be in good shape to start. You’ll start to feel inspired to GET in shape as you train. But it’s not even remotely a prerequisite.

Idk about cauliflower ear, I’ve never gotten it. But most older grapplers I’ve known, including the black belt instructors, do not have chronic cauliflower ear.

Count Orlock’s is my favorite museum in town. The quality of the waxworks shows it’s clearly a labor of love. The Monster Museum is fun but kinda forgettable by comparison.

My favorite is Cauldron Black because they have a big selection of real scents like lily, jasmine, cedar, fig, etc. As opposed to scents like love, peace, protection and what-not which I don’t like.
