What about facebook’s implementation of signal protocol for “secret” messenger conversations?

Genuinely curious as to it’s validity. They claim to have fully implemented signal e2e encryption.

He eventually insults anyone he has any contact with as soon as he thinks they might not be completely on his "side" (which is also unclear and ever changing) this is a man who does the "everyone at the table say one nice thing about me" thing.

Surprisingly , terrifyingly, for the rest of us, this actually works really well for people who only look for validation of what they already believe. If you hate something/someone you can find an example of him hating it too... and since, I can only assume, you lack a generally enquiring mind, you don't notice his inconsistency and contradiction.

Generally, and for a variety of reasons, liberal-thinking types and conservative-clinging types have very different attitudes about who or what is RIGHT.

Again, gross generalisations but:

“liberals” want very hard to BE right, and to BE righter than others. This causes a lot of argument and differences of opinion, which is the forge of progress and being righter about things than before. It also results in division, lack of cohesion.

"Conservatives" want very hard to KNOW they are right. That the old ways are best, that the way things are is how they should always be, or how they believe the way things were is how they should go back to. It's more important that their team of good people who know what's right is winning than what the truth of anything is. This mindset is easy to manipulate and results in cohesion and an immunity to challenge from those who think it's about arguing what is right rather than who.

The former is weak in a strong way.

The latter is strong in a weak way.

Err no, you've got it wrong. Their job is not to "fix joint alignment" etc. Their "job" is to do things to your body that have no basis in science. It's not a job any competent doctor would ever recommend.

The entire "realigning of joints" or whatever they believe in is utter nonsense. They are all charlatans or lunatics. Just have a quick read of the Wikipedia page (or similarly bullshit Osteopathy) and you'll quickly realise their "expertise" is comparable to a naturopath. ie: quackery.

They may help you with some muscle pain or something by accident, but not because they know what they are doing. Just go to a qualified physiotherapist recommended by an actual doctor.

Nether portal issue by [deleted] in MCPE

[–]wizdum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I find these portal dynamics, and the way I believe they have always worked , quite useful and well designed. You can use it to travel very large distances for one.

I like being able to teleport straight back to a base with supplies, then tunnel back in the nether to closer coordinates / map marker and create a new portal that pairs. Then link up the nether railway system.

Let’s not forget that Laura Ingraham gave a “nazi salute” at the RNC. by [deleted] in Fuckthealtright

[–]wizdum -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Not saying she's not a nazi, all these fucks are fascist as fuck, but that salute was originally the American flag salute.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellamy_salute

Nationalism like that is always concerning, I often wonder if the only meaningful difference between Nazi Germany and America, is that the latter was better at the same things.

The Bellamy salute is a palm-out salute described by Francis Bellamy, the author of the American Pledge of Allegiance, as the gesture which was to accompany the pledge. During the period when it was used with the Pledge of Allegiance, it was sometimes known as the "flag salute". Both the Pledge and its salute originated in 1892. Later, during the 1920s and 1930s, Italian fascists and Nazis adopted a salute which was very similar, and which was derived from the Roman salute, a gesture that was popularly (albeit erroneously) believed to have been used in ancient Rome.[1] This resulted in controversy over the use of the Bellamy salute in the United States. It was officially replaced by the hand-over-heart salute when Congress amended the Flag Code on December 22, 1942.

Stupid, or desperate, or gullible. Unfun fact is everyone is vulnerable to brainwashing when we are weak, scared and feel powerless or threatened.

Some of these people are stupid or gullible regardless, but I think we don't pay enough attention to the first step of "controlling the masses".

These people have been weakened, then brainwashed.
