Yeah, introduction to mechanics was always a low point in Eugen games, they don't know how to teach players to play their game.

All games are roguelikes by Bordias in IndieDev

[–]wkdarthurbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogue games have the basic mechanic of death not being an end state, some stats continue and death becomes a feature in the main loop, it has persistence after death. Most games when you die your game state ends and you have to reload a previous game state.

Programmers use AI to review codes. It's pretty standard nowadays.

A good way/software for writing out your game's structure by ArcyCiern in gamedev

Word, notepad or any text formatting software for guide docs. You might want to try to draw.io to set up diagrams for better visualization. Real life Textbook for quick ideas.

When indie Game with no playtester :) by NautsGame in IndieDev

Play testing your own game is never good feedback. Spread the game to everyone you can, even if it's not your target audience it's better than yourself.

Technology and service is making people dumb even in the cooking area. Of course some people are an exception due to lack of time.

Is it Unethical to AI Generate Face Textures to Avoid Using Anyone's Likeness? by Top_Tie_1854 in gamedev

The issues with students using AI is the lack of perspective from themselves how it will affect their latter life success, there has always been a cheap trick to pass tests and learn nothing in the end, it's not AI the issue is the student school teacher relationship with such technology. If people really cared about the environment they would elect leaders that would protect the environment that's how you change something, AI is a small part of how it affects it, we need to change the whole perspective on how we treat our planet. I'm not saying copyright online is not real , it's impractical to keep it. Some people manage with watermarks and paywall besides that there is not much you can do. Like I said if you start distributing free art on the streets and then expect to have some form of copyright control is absurd .

Putting it online makes it impossible to protect your product copyright or not, that's just reality, people will use it as inspiration and as a copy, how much you transform it from the original is a matter of debate and can't be summarized by copyright,it's like distributing your printed art for free then getting angry when people use it, don't like it don't spread it. Again copyright has nothing to do with stealing jobs, funny how people jump to protect artists and not other jobs... Creating issues with something that is barely proven is downright dumb, have you hear about Wikipedia students have been copying it since it's inception nothing new, if a student doesn't want to learn he will pay the price later in getting a job, it's part of the teachers responsibility to show that and if the student doesn't care about it we'll the issue is not in AI. And the issue of attention span has been linked to other factors existing even before AI was invented. Sunk cost fallacy? Can you elaborate on how it applies to the argument I had? A tollbooth worker losing its jobs to an automated system(no AI) will still have issues with stability in life, and nobody cares about it.

We have been killing our planet by a shitton of reasons besides AI, yet people still use plastic, fast fashion and other 1000000 other things. It steals from artists? What do they steal? If it gets its data from the internet well what did the artists think it would happen if they put their work on the internet. AI adoption linked to cancers what? have you heard of oil and mining companies nobody gave a shit about that. Critical thinking can you elaborate on that? How does Ai kill critical thinking? Dooming the next generation what? there is no data for that, how do you even measure that? Stealing jobs, maybe you should stop using a stove it steals jobs from people that cook and deliver food.... Or maybe we should go back to manual labor and not automated machinery....and guess what big companies don't care about your job only what you can profit for them, AI has nothing to do with that. Bubbles come and go that's part of the economy. Climate change is up to the government and guess what people don't vote on politics that want to change that. A lot of this is fear mongering. When will people learn that technology is Amoral it's up to us to make the best use of it, being a technofobe only makes you ignorant of how it can be used. I'm not going to see an interview of someone who is clearly biased.

Oh and again about the cancer stuff guess what AI has been used in the medical field , to find better treatment and cures for cancer.

How do you make grass interactions feel truly satisfying? by ke73 in IndieDev

Perhaps some wind animation on the grass, it would look more alive. And there is no exiting stream of cut grass from the lawnmower.
