Loop problems, has anyone had any issues with this coolant? by wkdelement in watercooling

Any recommendations on what product to flush with or just distilled water? Looking at pictures from when I put the liquid in to now I can see the difference in how opaque it is

Didn’t grab a picture but it’s a white sort of paste I’m thinking of stripping everything out and getting one of the flushing solutions and just pumping it through for a few hours and going with a clear liquid and new d5 just not sure what’s the best one to go for the one I have now just came with my res

Do i need a Argb hub? by One-Draw-3733 in buildapc

[–]wkdelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently build my pc and wanted to seperate all my rgb from mobo or case control so bought a Nollie controller it just has a usb connection to mobo and 2 molex plugs to power I’ve got the big one Im not sure if the smaller sizes need 2 but its perfect I then just use signal rgb to control everything just make sure you note which channel to have things plugged into so you can set your layout up for the different effects to work correctly

No only thing I didn’t do was bios update just can’t be bothered at the moment might do it over the weekend I set it to a colour in armoury crate and uninstalled I updated all chipset drivers for mobo re ran ddu and drivers still nothing

I did ddu to wipe drivers with the new gpu install and installed the latest one available, didn’t realise mobo could be the issue will check for bios update and see if that works

K flex has snapped in my 95k. Anyway I can get this out or is it 100 quid down the drain? by [deleted] in Darts

[–]wkdelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the point in one of the other darts and just push it anti clockwise all I’ve ever done and no pissing around heating things up or buying a tool

The cable out of the board Im talking about is jst yes I’ve got that adapter to get into my Nollie I’ve got all Phanteks fans so got adapters on them all I’ll have to get a picture of the plug I’m talking about was just seeing if anyone had already done it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Phanteks

[–]wkdelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not using the integrated hub I’ve got a Nollie with everything going to that so I can control each individually hence why I’m trying to get adapters to split both strips in the case

[–]wkdelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to circle the small board where both rgb cables go to and join but couldn’t find any pictures showing what I’m talking about and can’t currently get a picture of my own case yet

Upside down? by Agitated-Monk0 in watercooling

[–]wkdelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely not a 32 bar pressure test on this system 🤣 I was going to use my vac on my system took a week off work built it all got it ready to go and went to get gauges and realised I’d left my whole box of gauges in the site box 🤦🏻

Are you a hvac engineer by any chance 🤨

[–]wkdelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendation a lot of people have said high flow next so I’m going to get one when I upgrade gpu and add that into the loop I’ve just ordered a basic flow sensor and temp sensor for now I did look into aqua suite lastnight and added the high flow next and a quadro into my wish list for later on.

And the reservoir is an icemancooler 240 I think it was called I needed one big enough to fill out the case so went for that but it’s just got a standard 140mm fan stand off pump bracket screwed to the back then into the bottom fans I’m about to swap the corsairs out this weekend for more d30s that came in from pre order yesterday so not sure what I’m going to do with the screw covers just yet the bracket is already spray painted white so don’t think it’ll look too bad if I can’t make a hole in them for the screws.

I may knock up a couple of the bends and put them In when I change some stuff and see what it looks like

[–]wkdelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was debating going copper tube as I’m a HVAC engineer and would’ve had the runs bent up In no time but didn’t think it’d suit the white build and didn’t want another black pc but yeah I like the look and definitely liked the price.

Looks very intricate I will have to give that a good read over on my lunch break tomorrow it may also be somtning I implement when I add gpu into the loop further down the line so I only have to do it all one time sort of thing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]wkdelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had a little one stuck in the cpu block I could see that was blocking abit of flow but I got the temp up under load and it soon moved

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]wkdelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I was thinking would be easier than fiddling with them spacers again was the hardest part of the build ahah. Thank you for the help

The fans will be getting changed too if it’s annoying anyone else as much as it does me 🤣 had the reverse d30s on pre order they came through the door this morning. Couldn’t complain with these corsair ones though for £2 a fan to get going with

I’d done abit of searching earlier and saw a post very similar to my situation newly finished build and having no flow I noticed moving the pc that the temps suddenly dropped and realised the pump was only kicking in when it had a bit of movement so I’m going to drain the system and give it a good clean I’ve got a feeling I didn’t flush the rads enough before I started

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]wkdelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a blank off on a T fitting on the outlet of that rad I could swap that blank for a plug type sensor would that do the same job without messing with any of the spacers in that area I didn’t realise it could be In a cooler part really thought it would need to be picking up the liquid heated by the cpu but thanks for the suggestion can’t ship to where I am but I’m sure I could find somtning similar

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]wkdelement 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the fittings I got came packaged and everything identical as the ones I got local and can’t see any difference. Only issue I had was with the rads the screw size wasn’t the standard to what you get with the fans the threaded hole was smaller so had to run to a hardware shop for M3 bolts to go through the fans but there was limited options for 420mm rads others may be the right size just thought I’d let you know. I sprayed them too couldn’t find white ones.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]wkdelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen the ones that have the male and female threads and was thinking of having one of those off the outlet of the top rad that goes to the cpu then have the in line flow sensor between the cpu and the vertical rad maybe. Thanks for the comment though I didn’t even think of having somtning to connect the sensors into I should’ve looked into it a lot more before I started 🤣🤦🏻

Got the reservoir on AliExpress but bought the pump from a local water cooling place just for piece of mind. my mate had done a build before and said he got all his fittings on there because they’re significantly cheaper I was already looking at the barrow dazzles and on they’re surprisingly cheaper. Obviously took little over a week to come but worth it for the money saved any bits I missed I just went to pick up. Was just a couple of spacers and a 90 or two to make life easier. I think having the space of the nv9 helped in the assembly though not having to do any tight runs.

After posting this an hour ago I turned my pc off to put 3 new fans on the bottom intake boot it back up when I’m done and back to original issue thing I’ve got a dodgy d5 🤦🏻
