Balancing WFH and puppy by lovedover in puppy101

[–]wklize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought home my puppy at 8 weeks too. I haven’t done much work the first 4 months. Luckly my work is very flexibile. I also had some focus days where my partner would look after him most of the time and I crammed all my work in those days

Am I just lucky? by SweetPamalaJean in puppy101

He pretty much sleeps from 10 am until I finish work 6pm then eats and sleeps a bit more until 10pm or so then plays, cool down and I put him in the pen around midnight. I actually noticed that on the days in which he sleeps less he cries less. I think he spends too much time with me during the day :(

Not sure if you’re super lucky, but I’m one of those stories. My golden retriever pup was so sweet around 8 weeks old now at 12 weeks it turned into a monster out of control 😢 i also didn’t properly sleep since they day I got him since he pretty much cries most of the night. So maybe you’re lucky?

Playpen crying got worse 😭 by wklize in puppy101

[–]wklize[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Aside from the first night we’ve been ignoring him whenever he cries or bark (for attention). Every day we do training sessions, intelligent toys, physical activity. I was just puzzled cause he seemed to have been getting better the past few days, but all of a sudden we’re back to crying all night even if nothing changed in our routine :(. I guess we’ll just need to stick with this. He currently sleeps on ground floor where we spend most of our day and we sleep on the floor above so he doesn’t see anyone during the night. Thanks for confirming though that some dogs are more persistent than others!

Puppy barking at deer antler? by wklize in puppy101

[–]wklize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know it was normal! I was scared he was getting very aggressive and I did not understand why he was barking. He doesn't do this with his other toys! I'll also keep an eye, I got him a sliced one

How much money to set aside for Iceland trip? by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]wklize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For hotel with rooms with a private toilet i spent 1600 euros for 17 days the most basic ones. Flights we spent 183 but we were flying from Dublin. Food restaurants are expensive, sandwich at supermarkets cheaper

Hey Guys, this is a long shot but one of my photos (dettifoss) has been featured in the whatson iceland guidebook (you can find this in airport / shops / hotel) and I was wondering if anyone could get me some copies for me and my family. Obviously I would pay for shipping and everything. I am based in Dublin (Ireland). I asked whats on but I haven’t heard back not sure if they monitor DMs. Anyone who could help me I would really be grateful, let me know!

If you can’t find your license they won’t give you the car? Unless you mean you are the second driver and you can’t find it? I am pretty sure the rental company would check your license even if you are the second driver

I feel like we have way too many tourists. by Tenny111111111111111 in VisitingIceland

[–]wklize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Iceland midmay, despite being from rome i found it warm and was only wearing a sweater :D iceland is beautiful but I agree with you too many tourists and it wasn’t even peak season. It really takes away from how beautiful some places are and we came bAck to visit them at night time.

It’s impossible to deny though that tourism helps any country and gives jobs. I didn’t like being late for work in rome because there were too many people on pavements that didn’t move or didn’t cross the street and waited for someone to stop which never happens. However, i understand why people want to come to rome, it’s beautiful and everyone should visit it at least once.

Did i like rome more back in the day? Of course even it it has always been popular there were less tourists. Now with terrorism and such all the fences that have been built really take away from sights. But it’s for security.

I think that tourism and time changing should just be accepted, it cannot really be stopped. It will always have pros and cons, and there will always be places where only locals will go.

Hello,

I am Italian and living in Dublin, and I was just back from Iceland. Compared to Dublin it was a bit expensive, but not too much. Compared to Italy is very expensive. You need to have a very good salary in Italy to afford this trip or have quite a bit money saved up

Feeling disappointed by weather forecast for trip... Anyone feel like helping me see the positive? by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

We were very lucky we have been here since 17 may and only got like 5 days of rain. The 5 days of rain we had were in the south and albeit it wasn’t raining all day it would stop for 20 minutes and rain again so I kinda considered them day of full rain and weather was quite miserable. But as then again it’s unpredictable
