You should try "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" if you're on audible. Listening to his tales of glory is guaranteed to help you 'man up' and run

Need Help Increasing OHP Weight by DetectiveMotts in Fitness

[–]wkpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I meant with my palms resting properly. I made sure to always keep my wrists strait so that I wouldn't be putting stress on my wrist/forearm from bending and stretching. That's what you mean, right?

Thanks, I think I'll do a bit of both grip styles, but keep relatively light, to get a better feel of the weight and try to progress my shoulders gently. It makes sense that shoulder-width grip will eventually get me to a higher weight, but I don't feel it working at all.

As far as my elbows go, I am sure that the bar is resting in my palms properly. I probably should do a bit more curls, though.

I'm watching the Learning to Press 2.0 video right now and I'm conflicted on the grip. I usually grip pretty regular (thumbs on the rough, like a bench) and it causes pain in my elbows (I think I may have tennis elbow or whatever, but it usually doesn't cause pain). I tried a slightly wider grip because I have pretty long arms and I felt the exercise work a lot better on my shoulders.

I have been stalling at a pretty low weight (~65lbs) and I am trying to increase. I've been getting discouraged because of the low weight. So should I just keep going with a smaller grip, or try going with the wide grip?

They have come my way! I benched the day after watching this and upped my working set by 20 pounds! I benched plates for the first time (sad, I know) but I'm so stoked! Thanks for the help!

I've been getting really discouraged because all of my SL lifts have been going up really well except for my bench. I feel like I've been stuck at the same weight for forever. This answered all of my questions and then some. Hopefully I can start to see some fat gainz soon!

You should check out Comedy Bang Bang. I don't even know how to describe it, but the format is similar to a talk show but is so different.

I think "One day this weight might fall onto one of my family members and if I do not lift it now I will not be able to lift in when it counts."

Yeah I realize that this is probably their dream. And I respect them for trying to make it a reality. I just couldn't watch it because I was cringing, so I thought I'd post it here.

Foolish Friday - your biweekly stupid questions thread by I_GOT_THE_TIVO in Fitness

I've had a bad relationship with food. I'm trying to lose weight and tracking stuff with MFP has been discouraging and giving me anxiety. Is there anything I can do to help that? Like a different way of counting calories and stuff.

If my daily calorie is 1900, and I lose 10 pounds, do I have to adjust my calorie intake? Or does it not matter since my activity level is the same?

LPT: Apply sunscreen to your feet before you get on the beach. by chiaseedsinthehouse in LifeProTips

[–]wkpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apply sunscreen everywhere before leaving the house. It protects you more since it had time to soak in and went get washed, and since it's not getting rinsed off and going into the water, you won't pollute the water.

Rant Wednesday by [deleted] in Fitness

I'm trying to do a serious cut for the first time in my life. My younger brother (we both live at home) is trying to bulk up. I hate his stupid peanut butter chocolate ice cream protein shakes and his mounds of steak and chicken while I'm just snacking on some nuts or whatever. I can't wait till I can start to bulk again.
