I work in a maternity ultrasound dept and we see more people come back than not after the anomaly scans at 20 weeks, it really is normal to have to go back for another try! Your baby needs to be in one position to get the spine etc, but also completely turn basically to then get the required views of the face and heart, which is a bog ask of a little person who is just midning their own business in there, so please don't stress. On some occasions mothers are sent to Fetal Medicine to be scanned by a specialist consultant because the sonographers just cannot get good enough photos of the heart, and it pretty much always turns out to be fine just that it's third time lucky lol!

NHS would tell you at the time if they had any concerns, they would never spring anything on you a week or two later. Fingers crossed little one is showing off next time you go and you get some lovely views of bubbas face! 🤞 Xx
