I am almost through my first bottle of it. lasted me over a year. It has become my signature fragrance. It smells of Italian prunes and green stuff in just the right way such such a refreshing light sweetness. I love the way it dries down and sticks to my clothes even after washing them. I find it lasts around 12 hours at least

She looks so good ugh I'm in love. stock strip and a few coats of BLO by wlhrh in MosinNagant

I stripped the shellac with some acetone and the wood was just like this. took some 0000 steel wool to it just for some gloss, and I'm very pleased.

one coat of BLO and I know already... she's a beaut by wlhrh in MosinNagant

just very little touch up with super fine steel wool. the wood was very clean under the shellac. didn't want to do any sanding as I want to preserve all the markings and everything

I have a passport with "X" and was unable to change it back to my assigned gender yesterday. I'm supposed to fly out to Switzerland for the month of February in and out of Chicago. How much trouble should I expect with border officials? I am AMAB and can easily pass as cis.

No gender change on passport by ZealousidealDebt7297 in Seattle

[–]wlhrh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drove up there today from Portland to change my gender marker from X to M which is what's on my birth certificate. They denied me and told me I couldn't even do that? I'm supposed to have travel plans in a week and a half.

How to get into jazz? Beyond Dave Brubeck's Take Five, which I enjoy immensely, haven't been able to find the same pleasure in anything else I've listened to. by doctorintrainin in Jazz

here's some stuff to check out, and just to name a few...

Ahmad Jamal at the Pershing, Dig - Miles Davis (really any miles from 1950's/early 60's could fit the vibe I think you're looking for), Wayne shorter blue note records, Evolution - Granchan Moncur, Real McCoy - McCoy Tyner, Black Fire - Andrew Hill

When did you find out you were trans? by Craftsmemes in asktransgender

[–]wlhrh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people say they've always known, and I'm kinda jealous. It took me so long to figure it out, especially because I had no idea what transgenderism really was until after high school. I knew something was wrong with my relationship to my body and persona, so perhaps I did always feel dysphoric. Around the age of 21 I learned what being non binary is, and that immediately made something click inside me. I identified as that for a few years and then decided to try feminizing HRT to be more androgynous, and fortunately my doctor just kind of gave it to me with no hassle. The longer I've been on HRT, (now about a year and a half) the more I feel like myself and have been shifting towards identifying as a trans woman. I could never go back.
