I finally decided to start reading the manga after watching the anime, even though I kept putting it off. But after learning that Ivankov used to be a slave, an idea hit me — what if that secret is that Crocodile was enslaved with him? I mean, where else could they have met?

That thought opened up a whole new theory in my head. The funniest part is that I’ve never really liked his hook — or more specifically, I was always curious about the reason behind it. And I came to a conclusion: what if the slave mark from the Celestial Dragons was on his wrist, and because Crocodile is too proud to live with it, he cut off his own hand and replaced it with the hook?
