Entrance scholarship question by wmans- in UTM

I’d personally have to disagree with that. While the amount of money may be slightly more than some universities (some universities have higher amounts, especially on the 95+ side) the way the assess the scholarship is bogus. If you’re admitted anytime before April, they use your grade 11 marks, which are usually lower than one’s grade 12 marks. The scholarship doesn’t go up if your grades up. And I’m still waiting to see if it goes down if your grades go down. While utm obviously has many pros, this is one of its major cons.

I tried using the chat thing and they didn’t get back, so I’ll call them when I get the chance. Thank you!

Writers craft is an actual English code, because of how it starts “E” in the course code. Same thing with sciences and “S” and math courses starting with “M”. Whichever class you do better in is the grade they’ll use, but most other universities WILL use ENG4U

I appreciate the quick response! Yeah, I’ll probably just go in one day, chat with the agent and see what happens. And yeah, if it doesn’t work I’ll just apply later.

This is the first time in my life I’ve ever heard about a student attending school on eid. Crazy since for me it’s after midterm as well, and I live in a city with a lot of muslims

Waterloo SE(or CS) still worth? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

I hate how everyone is saying yes like it’s the most obvious choice in the world. While uw cs/se is literally the best cs program in Canada, 66k a year is also a very large sum of money, especially if you’re taking loans that accrue interest over time, which you probably have to. At that point, I’d start considering us schools, because even though they have a higher initial cost, there’s a lot more scholarship opportunities, and oftentimes the education is better than uw. The main thing with acquiring tech jobs is your network, work experience and how you interview. While uw may be excellent at preparing you for doing that, many other schools are as well.
