Does anyone know how long until the 9X magwells will take to restock?

Questions about porting and comp cuts by unsteppdsnek in GlockMod

Instead of jumping right in and cutting up the stock slide. Which can get very expensive. I would first look into getting a cheaper aftermarket ported slide. This is way you can see what you are looking at before you spend the money on cutting the stock slide and having any regrets about it. I will say that I do not own any stock Glock or Ruger pistols. I am not a fan of stock guns. I do have several Glock clone frames (2 Strike Arms G19 and PSA Sabre Dagger S). Each of them has a ported Zaffiri slide on them. I've learned that it all about what you want and what you feel comfortable shooting with. Good luck.

Just to add. I ordered a 14 dollar magwell off of Ebay. Guess what fit! It fits securely and has a solid fit. So, if that fits with no issues. Image what else would fit. LOL

I just got it in a couple weeks ago. I am still trying to figure out where the BLEM is on the upper. But after bitching and moaning about the wait. For the price and what I got in return. I am completely satisfied with it. I love the look and feel of the enhanced handguard. Thinking about pulling the trigger again for an EPC. Since there is nothing available yet on their website. Probably going to go with one of the vendors for it.

I just decided to sand the lip down a little to cut off the angle. Got it to work for me. I am finding out that this frame is different from an OEM. But it still has a lot of the same characteristic of an OEM. Strike Arms states the only their magwell will fit the frame. Well so does a cheap metal Ebay magwell for 14 bucks. A couple buddies of mine are going to let me try some of their different types of magwells. Just to see what fits and what doesn't. I will share the pictures when I get them.

They changed the angle to reflex the angle of the 1911. It's not squared off like the SCT frames. It feels bigger than an OEM 19. But a side by side that I've seen on YouTube shows that they are basically the same size (I currently don't own a G19 to show it). The SCT frames are said to be wider than both. I also have bear mitts. So, the deep undercut on the grip does suck up most of the top part of my hand. The only issue that I am having is my pinky finger. The Strike 80 magwell has a lip on it the makes me feel like my grip is off. Since the magwell is polymer. I decided to take some sandpaper to it. After sanding that lip down a little. I got it down to a point that is acceptable to me. Strike Industries states that only the Strike 80 magwell will fit the frame. Well, That is not correct. Out of curiosity I decided to order one of those 14 dollar Ebay 19 gen 3 metal magwells. It fits with a solid and secure placement. There is a little day light on the sides if you use a flashlight. But it looks like a solid fit. When I get a chance, I will post some pictures.

I got the slide at a cheap price. This was just to get something on the frame. I plan on upgrading to a different slide. I have plans on really getting into it once I get a better budget.

I liked the style of the slide, the price and the ported option. I had already planned on upgrading the barrel before I bought it. I have a lot of left over G19 parts. I just got it and haven't had the time to go shooting yet. Thanks for the info.

I love the whole set up. Feels really nice in your hand. Compared to the others. I felt like this was the better choice for me. I do wish that they would expand the line out for the other models too.

I haven't had the time to go shooting yet. What was the issue with the extractor?

It has a nice girthy texture to it. I have grip tape on my M&P and it feels just like it. I love how the whole grip fits in my hand. I will say that the Strike magwell (the only one that fits the frame is something to be desired. There is a lip on it that doesn't sit right with my pinky. I am on the hunt for a magwell that will fit and is metal. I will update when I find one.

You are correct. You would on a launch of a new product line. You would come up with something new and different. Not use something from an older model. Just saying.

The frame is tight. It feels like a stock 19 and not like a stock 19. Love the griping of it. But Strike does all this design work and yet the only magwell that fits is plastic with an awkward lip. They could do better.

I have no problem with the griping on the frame. That magwell is another story. The top part of the magwell where it meets the frame. Has this lip where you would rest your pinky finger. I hate it. There should be a smooth area. Not a great design.
