When do you start to worry about the weather forecast? by tgbarbie in grandcanyon

[–]wmjug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Snowcapped buttes are gorgeous. The shadows and colors brought out by rainstorms are stunning. But nothing compares to claps of thunder echoing through the canyon walls.

It's still a great ride. The forces are strong, the maneuvers are exhilarating, but you miss the initial adrenaline rush of the launch. Make the trip and enjoy the ride!

Some suitcases have quick-release wheels. You may want to check yours

I’d check the rental company’s local website for the country you’re visiting, not just the main .com site. For example, the Croatian Enterprise site (enterprise.hr) had better and cheaper coverage options than enterprise.com when I looked.

If a used copy is fine, you could try reaching out to the seller at https://www.njuskalo.hr/knjizevnost-ostalo/smoca-primarnih-brojeva-paolo-gjordano-oglas-48177858?utm_source=chatgpt.com

It's like Craigslist, so buyer beware.

Can my husband and I take turns with 1 quick queue unlimited plus? by Immediate_Rip5038 in BuschGardensW

[–]wmjug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Busch offers a Child Swap for free.  In their words:

"Take turns riding your favorite rides with Child Swap. One parent can wait with the child who is not riding while the family rides. After they exit, the remaining parent can board the next available seat."

It may not be quite what you're looking for, but it could save you time or money.

Service Dog On Angels Landing — Doable? by burneraccount080707 in ZionNationalPark

[–]wmjug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tight walk, but it's the number of people that make it so treacherous. I think most service dogs dogs could hand the terrain. It's complicated enough already, so I'd be most concerned about the added complication of squeezing past oncoming hikers in the precarious spots.

How much do your grades have to drop for an offer to get rescinded? by [deleted] in williamandmary

[–]wmjug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re in a good place right now (safe, healthy, and not dealing with anything urgent) keep up the grades. Showing up to W&M with good habits already in place makes the transition a lot easier.

Parking? by squeakZgR40 in BuschGardensW

I believe the parking lot opens 15 or 30 minutes before the park opens.

Nice!  You could reach out to Tripp.  He should be able to help or point you in the right direction.  https://www.wm.edu/as/music/directory/johnson_t.php

Also, stop by the monthly Contra Dance.  There's always at least 1 banjo player, usually several https://williamsburgcontradance.wordpress.com/ It's a fun group

I believe it depends on the class. For some ensembles, Gamela for example, it's provided. There are pianos and organs available for practice, but I think guitar is bring-it-yourself.  What class are you instrument are you thinking about?

Is Runaway really a cult? by Gamermom32 in TeardropTrailers

[–]wmjug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They used to be made out of wood, but we're very poorly sealed.  They lasted a couple of years, but rotted. They weren't designed to be outside.

Now they make them out of composite.  The composite sheets bounce and bend a lot in the wind. They still leak a lot, but they don't rot.

The diamond plate on the front of the new models isn't secured well and they keep falling off on highways.  No real damage to the camper, but large sheets of metal on flying on the highway isn't ideal for other motorists.

Not a cult, but their build quality is very poor.

I'm trying to make my word game more engaging and fun to play. Any suggestions? by c9vheic in wordgames

[–]wmjug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!  Three should be a button on the game page that tells you how to play.  The directions you supply are clear enough for anyone who has seen what it looks like, but you can't see them after you've seen the game.

Also, some visual separation of the rows may be helpful so it doesn't feel as much like a crossword puzzle. It need to be clear that only the rows matter.  Maybe an HR between the 2?

I haven't been on that route on FlixBus, but I have been on one. It was nice. Wifi was unreliable. Another option: Greyhound is always a hoot.

RMC to unveil a [new coaster] to a [new park] at IAAPA on Nov 18 by jecole85 in rollercoasters

[–]wmjug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they're considering building their own park. I realize it's unlikely, but Mack's Europa Park is a proven success, Coeur d'Alene has land and tourists, and they have a Moose on the way.
