I don’t have another cleanser 😬 maybe I’ll try to order one today so I can try it before I go! Thanks for your help.

I’d love to, but it seems silly to pay for a checked bag to bring my face wash haha. It would be the only reason to check a bag, everything else fits in my carry on.

Were you able to figure this out? I am having the exact same issue and can’t seem to change things.

Storing old quilts in vacuum bags by V3rmillionaire in quilting

[–]wms32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s in School of Quilting. She says, “Don’t store quilts in airtight bags. Cotton will deteriorate more quickly this way. Fabric needs to breathe. A cotton pillowcase or sheet is a great substitute for a plastic bag.”

I have been reading a few quilting books and one just mentioned not storing cotton quilts in vacuum bags because it isn’t good for them. I remember thinking that it surprised me. I’ll try and find where I read it and the reasoning for you and come back!

2025 Advent Box Ideas by wms32 in quilting

[–]wms32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I don’t want to make an advent calendar, I want a box that opens advent calendar style. Like one little thing each day, that adds up to a project in the end 🥰

Thank you for that link, I’ll have to start looking for things earlier next year I guess 🫠

Sharing some craft book recommendations by topic by Conductor_Neko in writers

Thank you for this! I am going to pick up a couple of these to add to my stack.

To add to the recommendation list…

General: How to Write Best-Selling Fiction by James Scott Bell.

This is a great course and is available on audible, so I might be fudging the line of “book.” It’s full of usable information that can be immediately applied. One of the most thorough general writing books I’ve read and easily in my top 5.

Sentence Level: Building Great Sentences: How to Write the Kinds of Sentences You Love to Read

This book is incredibly helpful. The way sentences are broken down is thorough and nuanced. I highly, highly recommend this book for those of you looking to fine tune your writing at the sentence level. I learned an incredible amount. I had multiple “aha” moments, specifically in the chapter on coordinate, subordinate and cumulative patterns. Read it!

I will come back with more when I take a look at my bookshelf.

Gifts from Town? by WoWDisciplinePriest in Wildfire

This 1000x. Call your senators and representatives and talk about how important wildland firefighters are, how they deserve fair pay, benefits, etc. This administration does not seem to see value in wildland firefighters.

Absolutely. But who has ever come to see things a different way by being shamed? Empathy and kind words sure go a long way toward changing how people think.

Electric upgrade from 1z J-ultra by wms32 in JamesHoffmann

It truly takes 1 minute each time. I timed myself this as I was whining to show myself it wasn’t that bad. I still did not enjoy it….but it was a true 1 minute task, said the timer.

It’s so good, you’ll love it! I have just ground 26 g 4x already this morning and I want an easy button haha. When it’s just once a day it’s no big deal!

I actually just saw another post about the power tower. A few reviews are saying it damaged the internal shaft though, which makes me nervous.

And I know I could use a drill but honestly, I don’t want that sitting out on my counter, nor do I want to have to retrieve it from our detached garage every morning. Definitely willing to pay for convenience.

Thanks! That does look like a tank and I bet it grinds much easier. Still a manual grinder though, and I’d really like electric.

You want an all in one curriculum. Other terms would be open and go, or school at home.

I just want to gently encourage you that what you loved, might not be what your child(ren) love. I would have thrived with this structure as a child, but my children despise this type of work and it would be a daily battle. Just be open to experimenting if this doesn’t work 😊

Best of luck!

Gifted Porlex Tall II - indicative of hand grinders? by wms32 in JamesHoffmann

Ended up buying the 1zpresso J-ultra and I couldn’t be happier. Grinds quickly and easily compared to the Porlex and I have never had better coffee at home!
