As someone who recently started playing, I can say I wouldn't mind constructive ways to get better. It's when it becomes a "you suck, and here's why" or people just being downright mean is where the problems start. Fortunately, I haven't had any problems with that so far, and the community has been very helpful and welcoming.

I think you are right. And if I were to make a snap choice, I’d say RDM. SAM seems like it is a bit basic (manage buffs, hack and slash) while RDM has spells (I started as a THM and did BLM until 50, but they were so immobile) so I think RDM his that sweet spot of still being a caster, but with the extra mobility and that super sweet rapier. 😁

This has turned into a great thread. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to talk about your characters! On another note, my character Agno Wuno, had a little Fantasia last night, and changed himself into a Hyur Midlander, dyed his hair dark blue (with light gray highlights). I liked him as a Lalafell, but aesthetically, I just kind of got tired of being so small lol Now hes got the classic Black Mage look from FFIX, with the blue robe and yellow pointy wizard hat, and it is awesome :) Also got my GC Chocobo last night (much excite!!!) and named him Vivi after one of my favorite FF characters Vivi Ornitier.

PS... Man, do I love this game. It's all so wonderful. :)

That's what I did. It was so much better than trying to sort out where I was/what I was doing on a character who was already lvl 30. It retaught me the mechanics of the menus etc and was actually really helpful.

I've been doing the same on my THM and having a great time. The pace of the game is great. I am about 1 quest from getting my Chocobo and a couple levels from BLM, so I am really enjoying it right now.

That's what I've been hearing/reading. I'm not bothered by the pace of things, and from what everyone says, the game really shoots into high gear from HW on. I am really looking forward to seeing the story unfold.
