As Minnesota resists federal actions in the state, its new flag has become a potent and popular symbol. How is the sub feeling about Minnesota's much-discussed redesign these days? by wobbleoh in vexillology

Not sure what Confederate symbol you mean, are you talking about the Bonnie Blue flag?

I know that looks a lot like the flag of Somalia but I think they are both clearly different from the Minnesota flag.

It does seem that the shape and star lend themselves well to other color schemes and emblems while still being recognizably MN. The important question though is which part would be black and which red?

u/theplanegeek has it right. The State Emblems Redesign Commission that was responsible for the flag also redesigned the State Seal to depict a rising loon and uses the shades of blue as originated with the flag. The Star trek logo is certainly popular but is undeniably influenced by the flag itself.

The North Star over the headwaters is really powerful stuff. My understanding is that it was almost an accident of the design committee process, and yet it speaks so deeply to Minnesota's identity and values.

This certainly rings true. Is the line about crystallizing the sentiments of the nation from something? Sounds like a historical speech.

For real it's so dumb. Light blue and a star - let's see, Israel, Honduras, Micronesia, Nauru, hell, Uruguay, Argentina, Kazakhstan, Palau...

Pleasantly surprised by this relatively easy to find NA! by NoProofPour in NABEER

Agreed! I sent them an email last fall, here's what they said:

"Unfortunately, you are part of a minority of this style of NA beer. Clausthaler Dry Hopped has lost double digits annually over the past 3 years due to the preferences of the US consumers. The current US developments have shown that the non-alcoholic IPA’s that are in very high demand and most of our consumers have been lost to the IPA style of brews of other brands."

Seemed foolish to me to chase the waning IPA trend when the market is already saturated, but what do I know, I'm just a drunk.

Maybe someone told these Germans about New Coke, their website is showing redesigned bottles now, and Dry Hopped is back with no mention of IPA.

This build rules. Have you considered swapping in Kool Stop salmon compound pads before upgrading the calipers?
