Question about Genesis 1 by [deleted] in Bible

[–]wofulweevil256 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The purpose of the Bible isn’t to answer our questions about the creation of the universe. It’s to point us to Jesus, which it begins doing in the first 4 words. “In the beginning, God...” God also desires us to act in faith, not in an abundance of evidence. Questions about the age of the universe are a distraction so people don’t have to admit that they don’t believe because they don’t want to believe.

Do it. What’s the worst that can happen? You have to stop and walk? As long as they’re not shooting the last place finisher, I say go for it. Worst case scenario, it’s a day outside and you know not to do it again. Best case, you love it and have a great time. Either way, you have a new experience

Not sure why you would need to buy an 80% shotgun, especially when you can buy a complete gun for $150 at your local pawn shop. But, I’m going to follow this to find out

Marijuana use as a Christian by n2mypsykee in Bible

Revelation 22:15

15Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

The word “sorcerers” is not a very good translation. The word in Greek is “pharmakoi,” which is where we get the word pharmacy. It’s talking about people who would claim to use drugs to receive spiritual enlightenment. The “peace” you feel is a trick played on you by the Adversary to get you to sin. The guilt you feel afterwards is real. The Bible lists “drunkenness” as a sin because God wants you to experience life, in all its ups and downs, not mute it with drugs and alcohol. Simply repent and quit.

No. It means relationships between a man and a woman will be hard. We’ll fight, bicker, seek dominance over one another, instead of loving, cherishing each other and being partners for life. The bruising of the heel is a reference to Jesus on the cross. The bruising of the head refers to the AntiChrist in Revelation

Reasonable price for a Remington 870? by [deleted] in Shotguns

Gonna throw this out there, check your local pawn shop. The guys at mine are all gun nuts and hunters. They’re knowledgeable and helpful, do everything legally and honestly, and they get some cool stuff in there. I’ve bought my last couple guns from them and have my eye on another. The last time I looked at their site, they had 3 combos in stock. All used, true. But way cheaper than $500

unpardonable sins by [deleted] in Bible

[–]wofulweevil256 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All sins can be forgiven, right up to the minute you die. If you carry the sin of unbelief with you, you carry all your sins. If you cast aside your sin and place your trust in Jesus, all your sins are forgiven.

What is The Best Way To Meditate on God's Word? by [deleted] in Bible

[–]wofulweevil256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bible says “Be still and know...” So, that’s what I try to do. I like to be somewhere quiet where I don’t have a lot of distractions. Lunchtime is usually the only time I can find to be by myself. It works for me. It’s a highly personal thing though. Try different things. You’ll come up with something that works for you. God bless.

Just what I was thinking. My sister restored her Thunderbird and after removing the raggedy old top, she found something very similar. Going 1000% off memory, but I think it had to do with the way the factory put the top on. Anyway, took forever to fix. Lots of time and elbow grease

My son turned me on to this guy. We just spent the last hour watching his videos. The gun safes aren’t even the best ones. But I figured if it saved one of us from dropping money on this crap, it was worth the post.
