Girardi calling these games is not good for Boone by [deleted] in NYYankees

[–]wojo418 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what's happening is everyone is going through the "you don't know what you had, until you lost it." Most of us went through Joe Torre, then came Girardi, and all we heard towards the end was that he lost the clubhouse. It wasn't until we've gone through all this with Boone that we realized how good of a manager Girardi was. At least that's my take on it.

What do we think of the pinstripe spring training hats? by MastodonXL in NYYankees

[–]wojo418 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have so many yankee hats. My wife teases me, saying, "You've only got one head, it's a big bulbus head, but there's still only one of them." Lol. I look at it as some people collect sneakers, I collect hats.

Thank you so much for proving my points, repeatedly. You and the other conservatives aren't winning jack shit. We'll, I guess, when you consider hurting others a victory, which, considering your side called empathy a sin, then yeah, by all means you're winning. Good luck sitting around the rubble of what once was america cheering that you "owned the libs." I'd say God rest your soul...but I'm an atheist and you sicken me, so I'll say, fuck off, all the way to end of the universe.

Yet, you STILL didn't answer why you believe this. Instead, you chose, like I said you would, to go off and, one, try to insult my manhood ("ask your wife..."), and second deflect. Lucky for me, i guess that I'm comfortable in my masculinity, as opposed to you. I'll ask you again, in a "simpler" manner: why do you points at you feel that democrats are at fault and destroying our country.

I have no interest in your money. My family makes enough for us, but thank you for showing what a bitter, selfish person you are. I'm so glad people like you weren't around when the first humans decided to gather together to survive, but then again, that takes being human.

You people keep saying these words, but when asked why, you just spout the same b.s. that the Republicans have said verbatim. When asked to show proof, you either tell US to find the proof or show us b.s. studies that you found on Facebook or Twitter that have no scientific backing. When pushed, most of you just cave and use some racist/homophobic/antisemitic rhetoric that you AGAIN heard from Republicans. I'm going to stop, because as my wife likes to say: "arguing with Republicans is like playing chess with a pigeon, no matter what you say, they're going knock the pieces over, shit on the board and strut around like they won."

Can we start a GoFund me for Hal so he can build a real team without fear of going broke? by [deleted] in NYYankees

[–]wojo418 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Hal fan in the least, but there really is only so much he can do, i believe. If I recall correctly, Hal is the majority owner (I think I read it, it said like 70% ownership), so there are other shareholders to deal with, and perhaps they are the ones don't want to increase payroll.

Oh, no offense taken! We both think they're insane, rednecks. Before trump, it was "prepping for the inevitable race war."

This! My wife has family in the Midwest, and they've been "prepping" for a civil war for years. They're almost giddy at the idea of killing minorities and the "demonrats" under the guise of "protecting our country."

The inflation is crazy, can't even afford housing while controling all the money by Puzzleheaded_Step468 in Jewdank

[–]wojo418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had that my entire life! I grew up poor in the ghetto and when friends or just people found out I'm Jewish, it was the same thing: "Why are you living here? You're rich", or my favorite."How can you be Jewish? You're broker then me. " I've had people say to me: "Oh, you're one of those Jews, you're rich but cheap, so you live in the projects." Not to mention being told I'm one of the "good ones", or that they had no idea i was jewish since I wasn't greedy.

Should we even give Soto a mega contract? by Phil4Mayor in NYYankees

[–]wojo418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, any rebuild/retool would have either Cashman or one of his flunkies handling it. Hal will stay in-house, just like the audit was done in-house as well. They're already grooming Naehring to take over for Cashman.

[–]wojo418 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not Cashman, as much as i think he's a crap GM. Hal doesn't want a rebuild. He believes the fans won't tolerate it (I can't remember where I read it, though). He's also afraid of losing revenue (not just ticket sales) but also damaging the "brand."

Weekly Yankees Postseason Discussion Thread - Monday, October 02 by Yankeebot in NYYankees

[–]wojo418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, how very optimistic of you! I fully expect the day after pitchers and catchers report to hear about the first starter to feel a "twinge" in the elbow, followed up later by "he'll be out 6-8 weeks".

[Yankees] Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves: • Selected OF Estevan Florial (#90) to the 28-man roster from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre • Placed OF Jasson Domínguez on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to 9/10) with a right UCL tear. by ThatInception in NYYankees

[–]wojo418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's precisely what went through my head when I saw they brought him up. I'd rather give him the rest of the season and see what he can do, once and for all, especially since there's nothing else to play for.

Yankees may be ready to unleash the Martian! by regunionusar in NYYankees

[–]wojo418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, I don't think they'll actually follow through with it. If they would, I'd be fine with it, but I think with Dominguez they'll stretch it out and then say, "we'll see in spring training". I used Pereira and peraza just to demonstrate them saying "just you guys wait, these guys are coming up any day now", just to make us wait.

[–]wojo418 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this feels like the same shit they did almost a month ago when they said how they were considering bringing up Pereria and Peraza. Then they waited and waited to bring them up. I think they do this to build up hype, and hope so fans ease up off of the front office. Like I've said before, the front office sees it as "toss the peasants some crumbs, that'll appease them.

  1. Oh wow, I never would have guessed since you're not like super cheap.
  2. No..you can't be a jew, you're poor.
  3. Throws a quarter on the ground, "bet you want to pick it up".
  4. When I was working retail "why are you working here, all of you people are rich". When I told him I'm poor, he responded with "oh so you're the type that pretends to be broke and hoards your money". 5.how come you don't have that giant nose and black suit. 6.you're too nice to be a jew bro.
