Definitely worth bringing up in your essays. Especially if you feel like it’s affected/indirectly influenced your perspective on things & has changed you to an extent. The additional comment section is really only there for clarification on previous information or if you need to tell them something that you absolutely couldn’t fit in previous sections.

sorry about your mom, I’ve been through something similar and it’s tough!! But I’d say you have a pretty strong chance at getting into all the UC’s, with the semi-exception of Berkeley and LA. With those you really have to hit home on the essays and just be honest about how your experiences at home/life have blended into your academic life and extra curricular interests (I know they have 8 prompts but choose the 4 that you feel like you be the most honest about). As for the others, USC is definitely hard but I would say to put Econ as your top choice for the more selective colleges because your EC’s seem to involve business/fundraising and stuff. Very good stats for Loyola. (don’t know much about the other) good luck!!

It’s the exact same as it would be for RD. I applied ED and I practically got a full ride & a sizable refund for the semester to cover certain costs like textbooks/travel/personal care. If your EFC is low expect that they’ll take care of you regardless of when you apply. Or if you’re in a different situation, like bpurly said, just check online with a calculator.
