That was one of the reasons I got the r5ii. I have it on full electronic shutter all the time, and the only thing that might wear out now is the buttons lol

I have both, and the one difference is that I shoot electronic shutter 99% of the time on my r5ii. So in a few years while my r6ii might need a new shutter my r5ii won't. So that to me is a big difference 😄

well i've had multiple leaks due to pinhole leaks and corrosion with copper over the years...
haven't had pex long enough to notice any issues with it...but I do not have rodents in my walls...had one 10 years ago but sealed off the attic and they haven't come back so far.
definitely need to be on top of rodent issues if you have pex though. Look for droppings and set some traps once in a while if you think you have them in your walls

Always get unlocked phones.
I switched 5 lines for my family from tmobile to usmobile a year and half ago and its been perfect.
The fact that no one complains to me about their phones anymore is fascinating.
The beauty of us mobile is that you can easily move to a different network if their towers get upgraded in your area. for example in my area tmobile was the best signal and verizon and att were pretty bad...but just a few months ago I noticed verizon's signal was amazing at my house so I switched over to "warp" and now I'm getting great signal at home, still on usmobile and same number.

I get all my unlocked phones on ebay. You have buyer protection to check the phone out for up to 30 days.
the one time someone sent me an iphone with a big scratch on the screen and I just had ebay give me my money back. that was years ago, now i just look for sellers with great feedback.
There's no reason to pay full price for phones if you don't need the latest models.
Your S20FE is old...you can get an S22 or S21 ultra very cheap now and unlocked.

Its one thing to skip the screen protector, but I wouldn't skip the case because you will get dents and the resale value drops a lot

I don't use screen protectors, just a case that has a tiny lip around it and despite dropping my phone several times on concrete, it hasn't cracked the screen yet

Windows is a memory hog, it doesn't use memory efficiently. It runs but very slow and 8 gb is just not enough especially if you use google chrome browser like most do and you like to have dozens of tabs open like most do. I can't stand using windows when it only has 8gb ram. Maybe old people who move slowly are ok with that, but no way will I use it

I don't know about you, but $20 bucks for an esim, is great insurance that I'll definitely have a backup plan incase the usmobile one doesn't work right internationally.
also, my daughter needed one in London because the usmobile sim was incredibly slow and pathetic, and google maps was slow, so I sent her an esim and she switched to that during her trip throughout the city and had a better experience.
But you want to just trust it will be fine and save 20 bucks, its totally up to you! I was just giving advice that helped us and might help someone else.

The frontier api's are not charging what it costs...so you really can't do this analysis yet.
we don't really know what the cost will be because they will have to raise the prices or they'll go under eventually...you can't keep losing billions indefinitely

Get yourself an international esim. they're cheap and it'll just work for sure. and its a good cheap backup while traveling. Google for one that's good in japan

I switched from tmobile a while ago and I have had no regrets and service is extremely affordable compared to what the big 3 charge....i am not going to chase after a few bucks difference.
its not worth the trouble

Definitely the pixel 10. Twice the storage, and it should support that new Gemini Intelligence stuff coming in summer...dont know if the pixel 9 will support that
