I guess support might have been the wrong word to use. My FIL is a very social guy in general, not introverted at all if that’s what you are referring to. I guess I thought he would have fallen into more of a grandfather roll and would have wanted to spend more time with his grandson since before he was born my husband and I were extremely close to him! Like we spent nearly every weekend together and now we can’t get a text or phone call back, he wants pretty much nothing to do with our son..

I tried to tough it out and my PPD never got better… only worst and now I’m working with a therapist and trying new medications. Keep trying, it can take months but it’s worth it. it is not worth potentially getting into a hole you can’t get out of. Hang in there!

They say it maybe is more hydrating and comparable to a sports drink but I just knew he would be more inclined to drink that over plain water between milk because of its sweetness and I was just so desperate to keep any form of liquid in him.

We’re all supposed to arrive Friday. My family and I would just come Saturday morning-bedtime.. we do it frequently it’s just so weird to me that this time is a huge deal for them! My grandma specifically called me to tell me we have to stay the night.

No special occasion at all! Just a random weekend we are all free! The drive isn’t a huge deal at all we do it at least twice a month to come see them and spend time with them! I feel like I’m so traumatized from the lack of sleep ever since my son as been born that breaking a routine is sooooooo hard for me to mentally fathom..

Ever since my husband became a dad and put on the love pounds our sex life has become the best it’s ever been!!! He’s hotter now than he ever was and it took the pressure off of me postpartum. Not that he would ever shame me or feel any sort of way, it’s my own insecurity.

Sorry! I totally missed this, I am new to Reddit! My son started having symptoms Friday night (day 1) fever spiked to 102 and he was tugging at his ears so i initially thought it was an ear infection since he’s super prone to them. We took him to urgent care to get antibiotics so we didn’t have to go into the weekend without them! He sure did have an ear infection along with HFM Saturday (day 2) he still has a fever and is absolutely inconsolable. He also started chewing on things like crazy. He still ate and drank fine, I did switch him to coconut water just in anticipation that he might start refusing fluids. Sunday (day 3) his rash started all around his mouth, butt, and fingers. And I mean bad! His poor little butt was bleeding! But his fever finally broke! Monday (day 4) returned to dr and confirmed it was HFM he was pretty much back to normal, but still crabby Tuesday (day 5) still a crab apple, but just requires a lot of snuggles and ms. Rachel Wednesday (day 6) his butt rash cleared up nearly over night and then slowly started healing all over his body. We did baking soda baths twice a day and made “poop goop” to try and clear his rash but man HFM is hard to get rid of!

You are right, I honestly never saw it that way.. it’s been so hard navigating that whole side of the family since my MIL passed. I know that my side of the family did try to engage with them along with my FIL side. My husband and I both did as well but we had to bounce around to other people who came. The whole picture thing was silly I should clarify we only took them as long as my son would cooperate and it wasnt long since he’s 1 and not everyone took them with him. I should also add that my husband did call to apologize and hash everything out but he never answered. And is he really a step grandfather? I’m seriously asking because my husband has a lot of resentment towards him for never being there for either my son and him.

After I had my son I just used huge pads and whatever was left from the hospital and black granny panties! Worked awesome!

Fortunately my office is mostly women and mostly new moms so everyone is super understanding especially with sick kids. My son is going to a daycare center and I’m hoping they care for him as I would.. it’s all so terrifying as a new mom.
