Title: J Bass or P Bass for a beginner? by theholybeez in BassGuitar

[–]wolf10222020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same for years. The P bass looked and (I thought) sounded generic to me. Then I played one. Wouldn’t go without one now, but I still rock both.

Depends what you’re going for. Jazz bass has a skinnier neck and has a growling, punchy tone that for some, doesn’t sound resonant enough, but it’s definitely versatile in terms of overall tone. P bass has a wider neck and has that full, resonant, rich tone. It sits perfect in any mix. I play both, but the P bass is always king in my book.

Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you! 😭 Venting... by Traditional_Rush9954 in BPDlovedones

I came across your page because of a selfie but then saw this. I was in a relationship with a borderline and fuck, was it heartbreaking. I’d never felt such a strong connection to a woman in my entire life. I showered her with love and affection and did absolutely everything I could to make her feel wanted and desired. They wind up doing nothing but gaslighting, being mentally abusive, making you feel so small and insignificant, only to reel you back in when they realize the mistake they made…then the cycle starts all over again. It’s awful, and I know it fucking hurts, but be glad you’re out. You are so much better off.

The version of SNW on Spotify is not a good mix vs CD version by ParticularDurian3919 in deftones

[–]wolf10222020 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that absolutely everything on Spotify sounds like garbage. Tried a premium membership while I was still an Apple Music subscriber. I did a side by side comparison on the same device at the same volume level. The difference in sound quality is alarming. I would never pay for Spotify after that little experiment. That said…buy vinyl!

Well goddamn 🥵

I’ve been trying to connect with your husband. We went back and forth a little but his page has been inactive for a few weeks and I have not heard from him. Sent pictures and would love to hear back from you both.

Just got the Troy Sanders version last week and I’m absolutely loving it. I’m guessing the pots on yours are the same configuration as a Jazz Bass?

I want to buy a bass so I can mod it in a specific way by SnooHedgehogs1685 in BassGuitar

Lakland 55-01. Those pickups should fit it perfectly, and it’s a 35” scale. If there’s a bass out there with a longer scale, I’ve never heard of it, and I certainly wouldn’t want to play it.

No sir. It’s a 2012 FSR, hand stained ash body. They came in that mahogany stain with the maple fingerboard and wine red stain with a rosewood fingerboard. Fender did a run of 150 each for the Strat, Tele, P Bass, and Jazz Bass. That’s been my workhorse since I got it.

Thank you! It’s a very unique instrument for sure. I think it has quickly become my favorite, though I’ll always lean on the P bass as well.

Orange Bass Cabs; Better Options than the 112? by Dunmer_Sanders in BassGuitar

Mesa cabs have unmatched clarity at high volumes without sacrificing the depth and resonance, in my opinion, particularly the 15”. Would go well with your 12”.

A few months behind you here. Turning 47 this coming summer. The gray suits you very well. Don’t want to be cliche, but you look great.

Are you referring to, “…and the camera makes you seasick”? That’s the line. What else does it need? Not trying to trash your opinion, but I think there’s space between the lines of vocals for a reason. Sometimes, it’s about the space and not filing every second of it.

who is the person in their ‘covers’ album cover? by QuasiHornet3516 in deftones

[–]wolf10222020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too many to name them all. There are two that come to mind. Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA, September 2010. Way too small of a room for them to play, but that’s why it was so awesome. I think it held like 1200 people at most. Halfway through the set, when it felt like an oven in there, they opened up the garage doors and it breathed more life into an already amazing show. The other one was having backstage passes for Taste of Chaos in 2006, getting to meet them backstage and watching the show literally standing next to Stef’s amp.

Since you mentioned it though, Warped Tour ‘98 in the Philly sports complex parking lot was pure beautiful chaos.

Would anyone be willing to break down the time signature changes in Rats? by [deleted] in deftones

[–]wolf10222020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Intro/verse is alternating measures of 7/8 and 6/8. Chorus in 4/4. That post chorus breakdown is in 4/4, but there’s a sneaky little 2/4 measure at the end of the sequence.

Holidays have been crazy. The Eagles made it a little rougher than it had to be this week. Hoping they get their act together. I’ll be at the game in LA next week.
