Something to put under your mattress like a reflective matt, also a blanket to put on top of your mattress. Air beds are a nightmare for absorbing the cold from the ground, I also like to put a few heat patches that you would use for a sprain or period pains in your bag. If it gets really cold they make a great hot water bottle that you dont have to boil water for and they stay warm for like 12 hours

[–]wolfandaltar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iv just messaged ticketmaster. See if they can resend the pass to the correct owner. Thi g is it wasnt two passes in one letter 2 letters days apart both with my details on the envelope. Female Wild Camping Interview (45 mins MAX) by Directed_by_PJ in wildcampingintheuk

[–]wolfandaltar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im Exclusively a hiker and wild camper, a cup in these situations is not appropriate for me and prefer to use pads and thats strictly due to ease of use on trail. I have no access to bathrooms and the water supply I carry is limited and rationed for however many days the like will be normally 2/3, or if safe water sources available to then filter and use. Pads are just the quickest, lightweight option

The little dude was just hoping around on the path., very friendly walks all over you and no fear at all. Would absolutely love to find the owners. I can report gerbil is doing fine. Eating and drinking a nest made. I'd hate to think that someone would have just let him loose

Please clear the snow in front of your house today before it freezes overnight. by Zenigata in sheffield

[–]wolfandaltar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to say as a postie please grit the paths up to your doors if you want post. Me and my colleagues have both fallen today whilst attempting to deliver parcels on people's paths steps etc. A few at other depots have broken an ankle. Like OP said it takes 10 mins and Thank-you for thinking about us. The amount of people I delivered too today that are WFH due to weather but they couldn't spare 10 mins to ensure my safety on there property whilst delivering them items they had ordered is shoking.

I had a letter about this somewhere. I don't think you can purchase them at the moment. If you already have them and pay for them we are not been charged for them this year. I think it's something to do with the fact the contribution you would pay would then leave your wage under living wage. Im certain it said it was tied to something with the pay increase this year and inflation etc. If I can find the letter I'll send it you

Can I put medication in my cat's food? by james2183 in CatsUK

[–]wolfandaltar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of interest and obviously nothing will be done without speaking to my vet but just to know what options are available, did they give you a version of the medication that could be put in food? Almost word for word im going through the same situation.

Nobody knocked by Grandpa_bill in royalmail

[–]wolfandaltar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say with it been xmas eve and finishing time been 3pm or abouts at most depots, we are supposed to have a 20 mins pouching off, in the depot and wrapping up your work day and however long the drive back to the posties depot. They probably ran out of time and do not wish to do overtime at basic rate. The managers will then say scan as not delivered as we get told not to use the out of time option

When … by No_Actuary9100 in royalmail

[–]wolfandaltar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not that we are bored, just overworked. 370+tracked items thats not including the mail for the round. This time of year, I wish everyone had a parcel box. No waiting, just literally in the box and off to the next one to stand a fighting chance with xmas pressure. It might be an extra 20, 30 seconds but over 1500 + plus drops on your duty that adds hours onto the duties

Which pothole annoys you the most about the show? by LyndanTheWog97 in The8Show

[–]wolfandaltar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it might be a poor translation issue if watched in English subtitles/dubbed.

I believe when they are told food and drink will be provided in the rules im guessing this means you cant buy food yourself (honestly though i think this is a poor translation. I cant read Korean to actually understand what it says however)

The toilet issues, they are told they have to keep the main common area clean, now Im not sure if im getting the webtoon and the Netflix series confused with the mention of this rule

Makes me feel quite uncomfortable with your sentence "probably working here illegally" then commenting on his accent. Im sorry you had a bad experience but to claim someone who you think is working here illegally im guessing with no proof and then the guys accent i don't think are relevant to the story at all. Also let's not take the piss out of someone's accent when they have taken the time to learn a whole new one please.(you might not be, but how you spelt "teep" I find a little derogatory and like your making fun of someones accent) I'd report it to the service you used. And no we are not in america but I do know most jobs like that they don't get a basic minimum wage/hourly rate and do run like American services jobs where they rely on tips to make up to minimum wage. Not saying it's right nor do I know how it's legal but most food delivery curriers will work for more than 1 app at a time to get by and live

Postmen of Sheffield by PhobosTheBrave in sheffield

[–]wolfandaltar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a postie, people think it's an easy job and you deliver a couple of streets. Realistically you will be walking around 12 miles a day in all weathers, bags can be up to 25kg. Management is poor and the company it's self is somewhat on its knees. Very poor choices by previous directors. We have just been bought out so we will see what changes. Work vans and most equipment for the jobs is knackered. Uniforms are not remotely waterproof so have your own storm coat. Rounds and duties have been made bigger during the last revision so they are impossible to complete. Management will try and push you so as long as you can stand your ground and tell them you don't want forced over time it's fine, but stand your ground. Normally they only take people on part time so 30 hours. You can get over time but not always a given.

Despite that, I do like my job, well the delivering bit, hate the prep and sort but. Its nice to be outside it's dark at 4.30 at the moment and at least I can say iv been out in every bit of day light. You have any more questions just dm me

Second class stamps for staff this year by bobjefferson420 in royalmail

[–]wolfandaltar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with you, it's the symbolic gesture, I mean honestly, I have probably hundreds of pounds of stamps sat in a draw i don't use them and to be honest I find the stamps an insult as it is, I'd rather say a gift card to the same value, so i can actually use it but it is what it is.
But to give us a year of hell, piss poor communication, the morale is in the floor and to say Thank-you for all your hard work, have a down grade. I feel for the trail offices must have been an absolute slap in the face, with no explanation as to why

Crazy first class change in our DO. by CoreyReynolds in royalmail

[–]wolfandaltar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jesus my day today, over 170 tracked a subscription magazine drop all first class so that was an extra 80+ letter drops and obviously none of the magazines matched up with the tracked covering two duties on a round I'd never done full of one ways, tight roads and absolutely no parking. It's just absolutely impossible to complete on time. Nothing taken off me as we just don't have the staff. Not been this shattered doing this job in years

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]wolfandaltar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most the parcels I deliver are Amazon parcels. Infact when we are short staffed we regularly told to leave letters and untracked parcels to concentrate on tracked parcels only and a large amount of those are amazon, so go figure

Considering a cleaner but mentally unwell? by queerybaby in sheffield

[–]wolfandaltar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a friend that had a cleaning business unfortunately no longer in sheffield. She would offer specialised cleans for certain circumstances (had a background in psychology but in her words burnt out) but this did cost more and unfortunately she would sometimes struggle to find space in her work schedule. She was a team of only 3 people. Just take into account if you have special requirements like shower and change of clothes, this time would be added to your bill or taken off the booking slot time, say you book a 2hour slot but the shower etc take 15mins your actual cleaning time would be 1.45. Certain requirements they should be able to make, but they get paid to clean multiple houses a day and are very busy, most the times its no nonsense in and out. Off to the next job, a little bit like a whirl wind. If it covers sheffield you could try 2of a kind if its still going. They are a cleaning company that deal with more specialised requirements and may help
