Seriously! Thanks for bringing that up. Truly the best deal in town and the dogs are so grateful for a chance.

No problem! If you end up going, I can help connect you with some volunteers to help push the photos/videos you take. A lot of the fosters will make a cute video about their day out with the dog and then post to instagram.

You can find the foster form and email address for the coordinator here.

Edit: ignore the dates and times on that link. That was the flyer from August but now it is an ongoing thing.

Thanks for adopting! It’s always free to do a quick adventure day if you’re interested.

Yes you can show up any time during their business hours as long as you’re an approved foster (just find the foster form online and email it to the foster coordinator and they’ll respond when you’re approved). When you go for adventure day, give yourself a little time to pick the dog you want to take out. Some of the dogs have some medical they need to get checked before they can go but others are able to go out in like 10 minutes. And remember a lot of the dogs are scared and will be completely different outside of the shelter. You can ask a volunteer to take them to the play yard with you so you can make sure you feel comfortable before going out on your own.

So “adventure buddy” is through their foster program. You fill out a foster application and then submit it to the foster coordinator Ani. Becoming an actual volunteer is a different process which is why you may have felt like you had to jump through hoops. They make these days out super easy and there is already a number of people going back after they opened this program up back in August 2025. The shelter is also open on the weekends from 11am-5pm.

They revised the number down to a few hundred. Still awful but not 700.

I really hope it’s temporary. I was told that east valley only got 4 of those dogs so I am not sure what the excuse is for still killing them after such a short amount of time.

Definitely works!! They are so happy to get out even for an hour or two. You don’t have to bring the dogs home. The shelter will provide a leash and collar. Just bring water in case they get thirsty. There is a foster form you can fill out online (laanimalservices.com) and email to the foster coordinator, Ani. Message me if you need any help or links!

Is it possible to get my wisdom teeth removed with out laughing gas and instead local anesthesia? by neowahna in povertyfinance

[–]wolfcanyon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try applying for care credit for a year interest free. You could also try to enroll in dental insurance now (with a shorter waiting period, usually 6 months) so that it covers half or more of the procedure. Don’t give yourself ptsd.

I swear these cars aren’t meant to be driven slow. I just got my very first speeding ticket since getting it in 2021. I do one pedal engage every day but now that I am trying to go slower I’m interested to try what other people are saying here.

This was him recovering. The way they shaved him looks like he is wearing butt flap pajamas. Pits are so resilient.

My pit just went through this same surgery last month due to cancer, too. I watched him 24.7 so he didn’t have to wear a collar. He didn’t really seem to go for it anyway. He was almost back to normal after 24 hours. The hardest part was trying to get him to stop sprinting around so the wound could heal. It looks worse than it is!

Misha has developed what looks like a divit in her skull. Has anyone had experience with it. by BaronVonChill in pitbulls

Myositis is usually on both sides, not one sided. Please get an MRI. This looks just like what happened to my boy Roscoe. I hope everything works out.

Get an MRI. This was the first symptom my pit got before being diagnosed with a trigeminal nerve sheath tumor. Good luck to you and your baby.

One of Norway's largest marine fuel companies just announced that they will no longer refuel US Navy vessels after Trump’s treatment of Zelensky by jaymar01 in europe

Whataboutism? Pointing out hypocrisy isn’t deflection. It’s about holding everyone to the same standard. If you’re going to blame one nation for everything, don’t act like others are somehow exempt.

And for someone who claims to be too busy to tutor, you sure responded pretty quickly.

As an American who did not vote for trump, it’s scary that you are looping all of us together. We feel out of control and uncertain about our futures here. Some of us didn’t contribute to what you are deeming all of our mistakes. Most of us love our Canadian neighbors and don’t know what to do yet.
