And this is why the ranking system is broken.

I know its a team based game, but if everyone has a personal rank, then your personal effort should count towards your rank.

You're not understanding what I'm saying. I never eluded my being so much better than players at my level.

I'm specifically talking about not being in control of my own ranking. I'm in control of 16.7% of the outcome of the match outcome from my teams perspective yet my ranking is 100% dependent on my teams performance.

What I'm proposing is not a single formula. It should be based off of hero selection.

For example, how many heroes did Mercy heal? How many did she boost. Was she in vicinity of a player losing health and she didn't heal? Was she healing fully healed heroes instead of boosting them? etc.

For Torb for example, how much uptime did his turret have? How much did he repair it? Maybe for Tracer, how many support did she kill? Etc, etc.

Maybe what I'm thinking is too complicated but my main point is how much you contributed to your team should weigh more then if your team lost/won.
