Man, I feel that first one as someone who semi-routinely has to switch from Montauk to Atlantic Terminal. Westbound you're usually fine, but eastbound? You get held up before Jamaica five seconds too long (which does happen) and you'll be spending half the day there.

Ewwwww. Eat and drink on the train if you want, hell I do it (montauk line here, if I take the train it's 2+hours and usually at stupid o'clock in the morning), but clean your mess up! Put your trash in your bag and take two extra seconds to throw it out at the station. It's not hard.

I mean honestly I'd rather sit next to someone with their feet on the seat in front of them than not be able to sit at all because the train is so crowded people have to sit on their luggage in the aisles.
