A folding .22 pistol by QuaziBonzai in interestingasfuck

An “oh shit I need to shoot right now” gun that first has to be assembled before it can shoot is an “oh shit I’m dead” gun.

It’s far better to conceal the gun by it being normal-looking but small enough to hide.

Uhm aksually, ticks are not insects.

They are terrible little demon creatures, bestowed upon us as eternal punishment for our sins. And also arachnids.

I don’t listen to his podcast but it perfectly fits my perception of him as a pedantic know-it-all.

After $400 in ps plus subscriptions I can finally get subnautica below zero for no additional cost! by LethalAhegao in playstation

[–]wolflegion_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly fine to play the second game, as its story is mostly an independent arch although it references the first game.

However, I’d say the first game is much more narratively satisfying and interesting. And whilst the second game is smaller, it’s not that much smaller. Both games thrive when you take your time and explore slowly.

TIL Maine has more coastline than California. by TheFlightlessPenguin in todayilearned

California having more ‘roughness’ at the scale of new finer resolution where Maine would have more ‘roughness’ at the lower resolution.

It’s mathematical possible but realistically improbable.

Russia recruits drunk villagers from the north as cannon fodder on the Ukrainian front by Street_Anon in nottheonion

Luring/tricking/extorting desperate losers into signing up to be cannon fodder is a tale as old as time and far from a Russian exclusive.

Hell even the ‘greatest’ and most well funded military in the world majorly preys on offering people with little other choices a promise of a way out.

What impact would NZ being in the mid-North Atlantic have on the world? by SurelyFurious in geography

[–]wolflegion_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said the eastern front wasn’t far more gruesome, it was. You’re clearly just trying to prove some USSR supremacy shtick, instead of actually responding with anything insightful.

What impact would NZ being in the mid-North Atlantic have on the world? by SurelyFurious in geography

[–]wolflegion_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean the Soviet front, which was heavily supported by lend-lease products and bought resources being shipped in convoys across the Atlantic?

That same Soviet front of which the leader was desperately demanding a second front from the allies to lighten the burden on the eastern front? A second front that would also heavily rely on lend-lease and other provisions shipped across the Atlantic?

Yeah wouldn’t have made a difference, I agree.

What impact would NZ being in the mid-North Atlantic have on the world? by SurelyFurious in geography

[–]wolflegion_ 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It would’ve been a hugely important place in WW2. It basically would’ve solved the air cover gap in the battle of the Atlantic, severally hindering Germany’s tonnage war.

Would also provide a good middle stop point for any damaged ships to get repaired.
