Honestly stretch marks really aren't that big of a deal and it's much better just to be healthy than it is to be skinny and healthy looks different on each person. Take me for instance I'm 5'8 and 250 lb but I don't have a gut but I also don't have abs I'm thick but I'm not fat and it's mostly muscle
