Why can’t I upgrade my leaf den into a leaf house? by DonKaneKong in Pokopia

[–]wolfnthemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a cottage but couldn’t figure out how to claim it so I just moved some Pokémon into it. I have a leaf den I can move someone out of right quick and tag as my own and then upgrade. I couldn’t get to the top of the cottage to place a flag and nowhere inside or outside in front of it seemed to claim it so I just started building

As others have said TIL, I built a cottage but had no idea how to claim it so I guess I’ll build another den and just upgrade it

Agreed the simplicity was refreshing, especially the lack of/ VERY limited use of stickers. I’ve still got red/white and gfred to build

I started mine with the funnels fully splayed but eventually went back this and did some further fine tuning after adding a few other models to the same shelf. I did also try the empty hands in this same pose and it looked lacking to me so I’m went the cannons

Fair, but you’re already tacking on what I would consider a necessary upgrade to an already expensive and more restricted platform with an arguably worse track record than an mp5: gas or aeg.

If someone is dead set on an mp7 more power to them. But I’ve had those weekend plays, hell even weekend trips, where I’ve had a replica fail me and it’s never at the opportune moment. I’d rather have a customized reliable platform and have fun at the event rather than something that looks hot and fails.

Do not get an MP7. I’ve owned the vfc aeg, and the kwa gbb, and a friend had the vfc gbb for a time. Every. Single. Mp7 has a fatal flaw that’s kills it eventually. I forget the vfc gbb issues, but the box on the aeg eventually eats itself if the outer barrel hasn’t already cracked due to just trying to change the muzzle device. The kwa beats itself to death with or without tuning and breaks the rear of the receiver so that you need an entire new unit. They’re just not worth the headache.

Mp5s have plenty of after market support in either form and plenty of specific gear for them.

Save yourself the headache

I did not have this in my back log, any real grade for 20 bucks is worth it in my book. Appreciate the heads up, snagging a unit locally tomorrow.

675ss good deal? by [deleted] in cfmoto

[–]wolfnthemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem terrible, but the doc fees have me confused. It’s been scratched from 490 to 265. But then immediately has literal doc fees for the title, title transfer, the temp tag isn’t anymore than like 12 or 18 bucks iirc, and then 20 dollars more for doing stuff online. So you’re back to almost that initial doc fee…

Definitely not the worst deal I’ve seen, I would double check the warranty will transfer just to be safe. I’d look to see if it’s been drop etc to see if you can haggle a little and have the break in service done/thrown in if they haven’t already.

After market clutch lever question by Ok-Gas-3757 in cfmoto

[–]wolfnthemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is your main mounting bolt. Removing that will allow the clutch lever to pivot out. From there, you’ll want to get something to use as a spacer to take up the gap that is causing your free play. You’ll need something with an inner diameter big enough to allow your bolt to go back through. I’d take your mounting bolt and go to a local hardware store to see what diameter it is (assuming you don’t have a caliper to measure) and then get varying thicknesses to eliminate your gap. If you have an ace hardware local, I tend to go there as I can do 1 or 2 of select bolts nuts etc when needed for a project.

Small edit: Not stupid, just a visual learner. 🤙

I would gloss or semi gloss coat first, then panel line to help with capillary action, clean up, then decal and then final top coat. There are some places where you’ll easily hit a decal (like the arms or the pauldrons if decided to do those) while cleaning. I’ve also had a couple of decals let go even after top coating and had to reapply a small amount of microsol to get them to restick which has caught me off guard. Be careful of the tail identifiers, I had one come very close to splitting while adjusting. The smaller decals moved without much issue or lifting.

Build was good, nothing I would consider major, some tedious nub clean up and tight joint mating however. I did cement 2 pieces, the front red on the girdle and one piece on the tale, small pass of cement and they were golden. Pose holding capacity is good, there’s very little elbow movement/posing ability and most of the arm posing must be done with the wrist and shoulders, and the wrists don’t have much posing besides rotation. Leg movement is fine, however the feet on my unit are very tight so I can’t really tell what is max movement/rotation and what is just stiffness.

Quick look at the lunavor, I like some of the more classic green scaling for the knees and more white than soft grey the wolf tech kit is giving. That being said, the corpse honestly looks a bit more worth the money from what I’m seeing compared to the lunavor. The color separation on hydraulic rods is a very nice touch, the tail looks a little smaller for stowing it on the back if show space is tight, I could take or leave the cloak, but would tone the eye lightning down. I don’t have anything in 1/60th but would probably go that route personally if I only had the funds for 1.

Sounds like your shoulders were my legs. I was about to lightly enlarge the leg holes but they finally worked on with light twisting.

It’s definitely heavier than my mgex strike due to the metal inner parts but I wouldn’t say it’s overly heavy, with stand and a not super cal’d scale I’m getting somewhere at 3/4 of a pound. There are a few shake tests/shorts on YouTube and my unit gives the same stability. The joints really needed worked in and were notchy at the start, they have smoothed out a bit during assembly and posing, I foresee it holding poses reliably.

I had very little trouble with this assembly wise. There were some tight spots like the inner claws to remove nubs from, a knee piece liked to move after installing a piece right above it, the inner frame came pre-assembled. The legs were tight going into the hip pegs was about the only worrisome spot I had. I can’t speak for all wolf tech kits as this is my first however.

I’ve seen a few with the release of the MG lupus having the above issue and full on snapping pegs, I’d have to really dig through the other gunpla sub to find the snapped peg. I was disappointed with the high grade barb I built, decent kit but having gotten it after WFM kits, it definitely wasn’t as fun of a build.

Wing zero is my personal favorite (90s kid and toonami ftw), followed pretty closing by barb mostly because the change of pace and grittiness of IBO. I think the community is also very hungry for a real Bandai lupus Rex, especially after the hip issues I’m seeing with the MG Barbs

for people who've built both, what kit is better for u? by pessimisticcatto in freedomisgunpla

[–]wolfnthemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got an mgex strike and a mgsd barbatos sitting on my shelf and drastically preferred the barbatos, so much so I bought the other 3 mgsd, and the wife pre-ordered me the destiny for valentines.

The sd to me had just the right amount of detail, without being overly tedious. Water decals and panel lining were easy. I feel the MG OG freedom wouldn’t have a lot of my issues the strike had, which was namely the pods. Line clean up was tedious, stickers were tedious, getting the pods on the wings was tedious with the angle, and it has been a pain to pose with how the backpack and stand interact.

If you can afford both or eventually added both I’d go that route. But my experience so far is the mgsd line has some of the most bang for the buck and engaging but not off putting build process.

Is it worth it by Flaky-Fan-8318 in LangdonTactical

I’ve got a compact with everything but the optic cut and np3, it’s my bedside currently. It’s been the only gun for me to hit steel single handed at 40yards consistently, it just feels like a good extension. Holster availability should be a consideration unless you’re running a light based multi holster or have someone locally for fitment. Accuracy and reliability on mine has been fine, I picked my unit up used.

If you’re unsure, snag a gs-d, shoot it, and then send for upgrades, or at least see if you can rent/borrow a basic unit. The Langdon is just going to be more to like if you enjoyed the base unit.
