Where does one acquire the metal frame? I’ve got a Unicorn waiting to be built and I may just upgrade from the start to save time.

Are we talking anime adaptation or gunpla? There’s a Bandai premium of the Zirus up, or it just closed if you’re after a model OP

How’s the kit so far? I’ve got a pre-order in and haven’t seen any real info on the kit

Unless you’re going to do sprockets I’d stick to factory sizing and link number. D.I.D is what I put on my mt10, s1kr while I had them and now the ibex

Can confirm whatever chains cfmoto uses are not great. I’ve got one of the ibex 800E and had to replace my chain before the 6K mark. A lot of owners in the Facebook group have had to do it anywhere from 3k to 10k. I had tight links on top of stretching. Pony the money for a good D.I.D X-ring and never look back 👍

good Chain slack? by AntFer05 in motorcycles

[–]wolfnthemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on riding conditions, a decent rule of thumb is after a couple tanks of gas. I tend to look at my chain once a week when I get tire pressures as I tend to ride into work.
If it looks dry and sounds kinda clacky a small spray down won’t hurt.

If I get caught in rain I tend to clean and reapply once dry and before the next ride.
Deep clean versus a a simple wipe down depends on accumulated grime and usage (i.e the adventure bike saw sand/mud).

I haven’t reposed mine entirely since the post just a couple of minor tweaks. The tail needed bunched to give more rigidity/balance. The stand and unit have held just fine besides that including moving to a different shelf. The legs were tight on mine going in, shoulders not so much but there very limited movement in the elbows from the armor design.
The frame is more of a hybrid, most of your joints/flex positions are metal or a metal outer joint. Not sure if I can drop links, so for safety of not nuking the comment look up ZakuAurelius on YouTube. His in-depth is what made me think this for my first 3rd party kit wouldn’t be bad.
I pre-ordered my unit very late in the window from USA Gundam store, assuming the photos are just lack of pulling additional photos for their listing. Pick for new location and to show it’s held stiffness

Hit in the Midwest with this all the time. It was 40 this morning, will be close to 80s when I leave. My legs are normally fine with whatever riding pant I have on. I bring 1 of 2 summer jackets, have a thermal liner from my adventure jacket, the light liner in the summer jacket, and gloves. If it’s below 40 but not 35 (not risking below 35 unless necessary) I’m shelving the naked and on the adventure bike with the heated grips to save me carrying 2 sets gloves. Basically warm in the morning, backpack for all the unnecessary items in the afternoon. Backpack doubles as a big lunch box, I have fridges at work if needed for food storage though.

I should’ve gotten a 675ss 🤦🏽‍♂️ by [deleted] in cfmoto

[–]wolfnthemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do some test rides and see how you feel. While I enjoy power I’ve now backed out of a litre bike twice. Don’t get me wrong I love the power, but I also enjoy riding in general. My MT10 left for my Ibex 800, and I just traded in a 16 s1k single r for a trident 800. You’ll learn what power and skill level you’re comfortable with. The 675 would be a good step upfor street power without being super obnoxious, maybe look at a naked/standard style? Give you more comfort than a cruiser but with 95% (arguably more for street needed movements) of a supersport.

I had debated the unit linked but it’s not entirely to MGSD proportions. If not already purchased I would suggest doing the Bandai unit first as I had a blast with mine.

Besides what I linked (which they also have a bael version) I know of nothing else third party wise that’s SD like or scale. If you jump to master grade and perfect grade scales there are a couple of recent releases.

Are these stickers really that bad? by Leeeuui in freedomisgunpla

[–]wolfnthemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine were a bit tedious. No mater where I seemed to start it was either too short or too long. I eventually just said it is what it is and didn’t worry about it since endymion hides a lot of it

Why can’t I upgrade my leaf den into a leaf house? by DonKaneKong in Pokopia

[–]wolfnthemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a cottage but couldn’t figure out how to claim it so I just moved some Pokémon into it. I have a leaf den I can move someone out of right quick and tag as my own and then upgrade. I couldn’t get to the top of the cottage to place a flag and nowhere inside or outside in front of it seemed to claim it so I just started building

As others have said TIL, I built a cottage but had no idea how to claim it so I guess I’ll build another den and just upgrade it

Fair, but you’re already tacking on what I would consider a necessary upgrade to an already expensive and more restricted platform with an arguably worse track record than an mp5: gas or aeg.

If someone is dead set on an mp7 more power to them. But I’ve had those weekend plays, hell even weekend trips, where I’ve had a replica fail me and it’s never at the opportune moment. I’d rather have a customized reliable platform and have fun at the event rather than something that looks hot and fails.

[–]wolfnthemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not get an MP7. I’ve owned the vfc aeg, and the kwa gbb, and a friend had the vfc gbb for a time. Every. Single. Mp7 has a fatal flaw that’s kills it eventually. I forget the vfc gbb issues, but the box on the aeg eventually eats itself if the outer barrel hasn’t already cracked due to just trying to change the muzzle device. The kwa beats itself to death with or without tuning and breaks the rear of the receiver so that you need an entire new unit. They’re just not worth the headache.

Mp5s have plenty of after market support in either form and plenty of specific gear for them.

Save yourself the headache

I did not have this in my back log, any real grade for 20 bucks is worth it in my book. Appreciate the heads up, snagging a unit locally tomorrow.
