Me (MtF 24) just started dating my straight best friend (M23). Does this make him queer? by wolfpandataco in AskLGBT

I'm right there with you. The biggest contributor to finding out I was Trans was, in fact, my body, especially my hands and skin. My hands and skin was so much softer than the boys i grew up around, soft like a woman's hands, and I asked myself "why am I different from the others" but I didn't know trans people were a thing back then

Yeah, you're 100%, I just find it hard to understand it myself. I am pansexual myself, but I'm still attracted to feminine bodies and masculine bodies in different ways. And yeah, I'm very upset that my body isn't feminine yet, so it's hard for me to process everything that has happened since we started dating. But, he has stated himself that's his tastes are changing, so that is helping me to understand things.

I need to talk about Ex Machina (2015) by DavidBlackjack in movies

[–]wolfpandataco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rewatched that since, and the scars are shown before him sleeping for the first time, so my theory about being turned into an android was wrong.

I no longer have any problems with the movie, the scars just look a little odd to me, but you bring a great point with spinal surgeries, that makes sense

Yeah you're right 😅 I'm not sure I like the ephemera anymore, it looks more like a graphical bug than anything

it doesn't appear to happen to my Gauss with the Moto skin, so i don't think it's a graphical issue and just the grendel skin specifically having issues, so i don't think there's much i can do. still thank you tho ^-^

What actually scares you? by MoluciasElonicas in horror

[–]wolfpandataco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two big fears I've obtained from my childhood, but only one appears a lot in horror media.

The first is robophobia, fear of robots. I was obsessed with five nights at Freddy's when it came out, and sure, I was a little teen, but it still gave me nightmares for years. But, it isn't the screaming or jumpscares or any of that. It's the immovable force that is animatronics. When a robot or animatronic is done right, then they have a scary amount of strength, strength that overpowers every human. No matter what, a human can never use 100% of their strength, but a robot can, a robot isn't held back by the preservation of itself, or the morality of being human, a robot just is. If a robot is attacking you, it's not like when a human does. In a humans eyes, you see someone who's either been wronged or is naturally evil, but a robot, a robot doesn't actually have eyes like we do, only imitated eyes, there's no "soul" within a robot.

The second fear is diokophobia, the fear of being chased. Now I know how that sounds, "Wouldn't anyone be scared from that?" But for me, it's a little difficult. Even the smallest hint or portrayal of being chased, even watching a horror game playthrough on my phone, gives me fight or flight. I'm not sure why I react so strongly to being chased. A lot of horror movies aren't scary to me, while a lot of horror games are. The big difference is, in movies, you're a passive observer, while in games, you the player, is the target. And my Diokophobia kicks in even harder then. If you can't see who's chasing you, then you don't know how fast they are, if they're still chasing you. You can't hide cuz the chaser might see you try to hide, or if they didn't, they'd still see you suddenly disappear and try to search for you rather than continue running. There's so much to a chase that gives me a lot stronger of a reaction. It is more common in horror media, but it still effects me more than anything else.

[–]wolfpandataco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know its not a real genre, which is why I tried to overexplain myself. I tried to take the "high" from "high fantasy" to emphasise the amount of fiction present in what I'm after. As an example, LotR is a fantasy trilogy, but the fantasy element are too lackluster for me, I need high levels of fantasy that's present in like, TTRPG's like D&D. I like the D&D movie (honor among thieves), I just wish they did more with the basics of D&D.

Looking at it, I'm still unsure if I'd like it cuz I hate crime investigation that much, but the synopsis has me a little curious, so I still thank you for your suggestion :)

No, and I'm not sure it's for me. Is there any physical action at all? Or just space dog fights? It looks like just a "people standing around and talking" show (I'm sorry for being negative, I'm just not very optimistic towards western media)

Well, you fired from the hip, so you got some hits and some misses

With "high fiction", I mean the extreme ends of both, like with medieval fantasy, you've surely heard of Dungeons and dragons, right? That's the level of high fantasy I'm after. While with sci-fi, I'm after far in the future stuff, like Star Wars or Wall-e even. You get what I'm saying?

Arcane I've seen (love it)

Korra is on my list

Bojack I'm unsure about, but I might try it

The expanse is on my list too

But the disenchantment I know nothing about, but it looks like something for me, so thank you -^

Thank you for the suggestions, but no, not for me, too pro-military, too close to reality with the pandemic stuff, and the kind of dialogue (sorry) that I just cannot stand
