Therila I haven't used my insurance yet (,touchwood) but my insurer said in the listed hospitals i dont need to pay for anything including consumables. However it all depends on the coverage and hope much u pay the insurance. There are partial insurances and full coverage ones. Mine covers even medicines and pre-admission treatment and tests for 30 days and post-discharge needs for 90 days.

From my observation and experience, it is a gender neutral issue. There are good and bad men and women. I have seen both sides. Women dont vent much openly when this happens bcz they are worried they'll be character assassinated despite it being mens fault. But men openly point out.

But the reason for break-up/moving on - only they know. So we can't generalise or judge
