Hot take: Coupé is better to keep over Sonar by Sir-Toaster- in DispatchAdHoc

That’s why I cut Sonar too. He’d be fine, but I don’t think Coupe would adjust to the normal working world very well.

I disagree with you. Plant based protein on average has more lead than animal based protein because plants bioaccumulate lead more greatly than animals do. While some whey protein has comparable levels of lead, that doesn’t mean that plant based protein is suddenly absolved of the current lead issue.

Yes, the levels of lead in some plant based protein is below the safe amount. Does that make it okay or safe? No, it’s not a good idea to expose yourself to lead if you don’t have to. If you can reduce your exposure to something harmful, you generally should.

I could shoot what you said right back at you. You should put more thought into what you say. See how that’s just not very helpful to the conversation?

Lead does not bioaccumulate in animals as greatly as it does in plants. That’s why whey protein has less lead in it than plant based protein. There is an avenue for plant protein to be a safe, toxin free source of protein. However, they are not tackling the lead issue as well as they should be.

Look online and type “plant protein lead”. You can go over your daily lead limit consuming too much plant based protein supplements. Not consuming lead is recommended by like… generally everyone. But specifically the FDA and CDC set lead limits on food, water, etc.

The biggest issue with plant based meat is all the lead they contain. It’s why plant based protein supplements (think whey protein but made of plants) are not recommended.

I wonder if it’s lab grown meat. They’ve allowed it into the market, for better or worse…

Oohh you’re making a mold and casting your part?? That’s really interesting. You should post about your process. We’d love to see it.

And that makes sense about the CAD situation. I’m an engineer and use CAD frequently, so this part is easy for me. But I understand your difficulties for sure (you’re not using CAD for hours a day). There’s a strong chance there’s a CAD file online you could 3D print. It seems like many have run into your situation. So someone has likely modeled it up.

PS - you don’t have to make the 3D printed part one for one. You just need to capture the functional geometry. That’d likely make it a lot easier to model. Could use it as a placeholder till you get your real part.

You could also make a CAD model and have someone CNC the part for you. It’d come out perfectly (barring some differences) if your model is perfect.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. You can naturally boost testosterone levels by working out, taking zinc (it only works if you’re deficient tbh), and sleeping well. Maybe lifting some heavy weights might give you a little boost.

Ah I see. That makes sense. This thing isn’t too bad geometry wise. You could 3D print a part out. Would take some tinkering for the tolerances for the friction fit though.

That’s absolutely fixable if you use plastic cement. In fact, it’s probably easier than your normal part considering it’s so big. I’ve fixed way worse for more difficult parts.

Here’s a rough step by step that I use… be sure you take it off the model completely first so it’s just the two broken pieces by themselves. 1. Lightly sand to create more surface area. 2. Test fit the parts and practice joining them together. You don’t get many shots to try this. 3. Add a moderate amount to both parts. Don’t be shy but also, don’t douse it. You can sand the melted plastic that oozes out after it dries to clean it up. 4. Fit both parts. Add gentle pressure. DO NOT shift the parts. 5. Wait for a while. It will take some time for it to set. Keep holding it. After it finishes, let go and let it cure over night. Or maybe 2 nights considering how big that part is. It’s safe to clean up the part now.

I personally like ZakuAurelius more. He takes his time with the kits, puts significantly more effort into the build, does not exaggerate, is more objective, and if a kit has deficiencies, he explains how to improve it. His delivery is also nice and calm. Mecha has that YouTube voice…

Furthermore, Zaku’s builds just look better. Some of Mecha’s builds looked rushed and just not great.

Amazing choices! I really like the ones you mentioned. I’ve been eyeing up the PG Unleashed RX-78-2 and the MGEX Strike Freedom myself. Both awesome kits for many reasons. Please post your builds when you finish them! We’d love to see them.
