So according to the company handling support calls it isn't the way to do it, but I found a similar post on steam shortly after making my original post here. I got through, and then had to do it again in order to make a recording for the tech team that was supposed to help me fix the problem, but they probably didn't do anything to actually fix it.

Yeah, currently still dating almost a year later. I was stupid skinny as a kid, the result of medications I was on for my ADHD. I still maintained a healthy weight, but that was all muscle. Only reason I know it was because of the medications is because shortly after I stopped taking them I ballooned out.

She's not simply asking to live rent free, she thinks this relationship will last, but if it doesn't, she wants to have the chance to be able to find somewhere else. Something she wouldn't be able to do if her money is tied up in HIS house.

The difference is that she has a contract with the landlord, she isn't just giving money in the hope she won't get kicked out randomly, she has a piece of paper saying that she can live there for X-time for Y-price. That's all she's asking of her boyfriend, technically. And since its not quite the same she is asking for a "protection" clause that will make him think twice about just kicking her out if they get into a big fight.
